Hers vs TrimRx: Brand-Name GLP-1s or Compounded?
By WPG Research Team · Last verified · Last updated
Hers and TrimRx sell different things. On November 4, 2026, Hers listed only brand-name GLP-1s, like the Wegovy pill from $149 a month, plus a required membership of $149 a month after a $39 first month. TrimRx mainly sells compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, with no membership, at $299 and $399 a month after month one, per its terms.
Below: our Hers vs TrimRx breakdown, with year-one cost, what each membership or package covers, refund rules, and who should pick which.
Weight Loss Provider Guide is an independent comparison resource for GLP-1 telehealth providers.
Bottom line: Choose TrimRx if you want a compounded shot at one all-in monthly price, in any state. Choose a brand-name program if you want an FDA-approved drug. If that's you, compare Ro too, since it posts every dose price and checks insurance.
Best for TrimRx: Cash payers who want compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide with no separate membership.
Best for Hers: Women who want an FDA-approved drug such as the Wegovy pill and value a members' community.
Not best for either: Anyone pregnant or under 18. GLP-1 safety: do not use if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer (MTC), or if you have MEN 2.
What matters most: Whether you want a brand-name drug. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. Brand-name drugs are, but cost more without insurance.

See TrimRx's plansThe short version
People compare Hers and TrimRx because both sell GLP-1 weight loss care online. But they now sell different kinds of drugs.
- Hers lists brand-name drugs made by Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly. You pay for the drug plus a monthly membership.
- TrimRx mainly sells compounded versions made by pharmacies. You pay one monthly price with no membership.
Using TrimRx's terms prices and Hers's lowest listed Wegovy pill price, estimated year-one costs are about the same, roughly $3,500, if those prices hold. The real choice is whether you want an FDA-approved drug or a compounded one.
Brand-name vs compounded: what's the difference?
Brand-name drugs like Wegovy and Zepbound are FDA-approved for weight loss. The FDA has reviewed their safety, effectiveness and how they're made.
Compounded drugs are made by pharmacies, not the drug makers. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality before they're sold. They are not the same as Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro or Zepbound.
What each company says:
- TrimRx says its compounded drugs are "prepared and shipped by a state-licensed sterile compounding pharmacy" and "produced in FDA-registered facilities but are not FDA-approved." It didn't name the pharmacy on the pages we opened. In May, our check found TrimRx naming Olympia Pharmaceuticals and Empower Pharmacy. See what pharmacy TrimRx uses.
- Hers says Wegovy, Zepbound and Foundayo are FDA-approved for weight loss. It says Ozempic and Mounjaro are approved for type 2 diabetes and only go to patients who meet clinical criteria. On November 4, its weight loss page listed no compounded drugs. See does Hers offer tirzepatide.
Is Hers cheaper than TrimRx?
Using TrimRx's terms prices and Hers's lowest listed Wegovy pill price, estimated year-one costs are about even if those prices hold. Otherwise, it depends on your drug, dose and plan.
Hers's prices (November 4):
| Drug at Hers | Medicine price | With $149 membership |
|---|---|---|
| Wegovy pill | From $149/month | From $298/month |
| Foundayo pill | From $149/month | From $298/month |
| Wegovy pen | From $199/month | From $348/month |
| Zepbound KwikPen or vial | From $299/month | From $448/month |
| Mounjaro, and Zepbound listed without a form | $1,899/month | $2,048/month |
Hers says its drug prices cover "medication only." The membership is billed separately: $39 for the first month, then $149 a month. Hers says medicine "is not available without a membership."
TrimRx's prices (November 4):
- Its home page says compounded semaglutide is "Starting at $179" and compounded tirzepatide is "Starting at $279."
- Its terms list semaglutide at $199 for the first month, then $299, and tirzepatide at $349, then $399.
- No membership. TrimRx's terms say each package includes the visit, medicine if prescribed, shipping and ongoing support.
We couldn't see TrimRx's checkout price without doing its intake. Its home page and terms don't match, so we show both.
Year-one cost
| Option | How we got it | Year-one total |
|---|---|---|
| TrimRx compounded semaglutide | $199 + 11 × $299 (terms) | $3,488 |
| TrimRx compounded tirzepatide | $349 + 11 × $399 (terms) | $4,738 |
| TrimRx 48-week prepay, semaglutide | Checkout total we recorded August 7 | $1,552 |
| Hers Wegovy pill, lowest price all year | $1,678 membership + 12 × $149 | $3,466 or more |
| Hers Wegovy pen, lowest price all year | $1,678 + 12 × $199 | $4,066 or more |
| Hers Zepbound KwikPen, lowest price all year | $1,678 + 12 × $299 | $5,266 or more |
Hers membership for a year is $39 + 11 × $149 = $1,678. Hers's drug prices are "from" prices. Most people move up in dose, so actual costs may be higher than these floors. More on TrimRx's plan lengths is in our TrimRx cost guide, and on Hers's fee in does Hers have a membership fee.

Refunds and canceling: Hers vs TrimRx
| TrimRx | Hers | |
|---|---|---|
| Not approved | Full refund | Terms say the first month's $39 membership fee is non-refundable |
| Change your mind early | Order canceled if the prescription hasn't gone to the pharmacy | Drug plan refunded if you cancel within 48 hours and it hasn't shipped |
| Medicine already shipped | That order goes through; canceling stops future orders | No refund after shipping |
| Renewals | Stop before the next prescription goes to the pharmacy | Cancel at least 2 days before your billing date |
| Prepaid months | Unused months refundable only if you ask within 28 days of paying | Membership runs to the end of any shipped supply |
| How to cancel | Account, chat or 888-896-1612 | App, account, support@forhims.com or 1-800-368-0038 |
The big Hers rule: The membership and the drug plan are two separate subscriptions. Canceling the drug plan does not cancel the membership. Cancel both if you want to stop paying.
The big TrimRx rule: Refund requests must come within 28 days of the payment date.
Which has more choices?
Hers has more drugs, all brand-name: the Wegovy pill (including a microdosing plan), Wegovy pen, Zepbound KwikPen and vial, Foundayo pill, the Ozempic pill and Ozempic. Some prescriptions may be sent to Gifthealth, a separate pharmacy service, which then bills you directly.
TrimRx's main program is compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide. Its terms also list Ozempic at $1,299 and Zepbound at $1,399 a month and say branded drugs "may be available on a limited basis." But its footer says TrimRx "does not sell, dispense, or ship any branded medications." Those statements don't match. Ask TrimRx before you pay if you want a brand-name drug.
Want brand-name drugs? Compare Ro too
If the reason you're looking at Hers is an FDA-approved drug, Ro is worth a side-by-side look. On November 4, Ro listed:
- Membership: $39 for the first month, then $74 to $149 a month by plan. Ro says your $39 is refunded if you're not eligible.
- Wegovy pill: $149 at 1.5 mg, $199 at 4 mg and $299 at 9 mg and 25 mg.
- Zepbound KwikPen: $299 at 2.5 mg, $399 at 5 mg, and $449 at 7.5 mg to 15 mg with a manufacturer offer.
- Free insurance check for Ozempic, Wegovy and Zepbound pens.
Ro shows every dose price. Hers shows "from" prices. Ro also has a yearly membership plan at $74 a month, against Hers's $149.
See Ro's GLP-1 pricesMore in our Ro vs Hers comparison and Ro GLP-1 review.
How fast do you get your medicine?
TrimRx says compounded medicine usually ships within 48 business hours after approval, and most people get it in about 4 to 7 business days from approval. See TrimRx shipping time.
Hers says you can get started "as soon as this week," from prescription to delivery.
Insurance and HSA/FSA
- TrimRx says "No Insurance Needed." Its terms list Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Discover, "including eligible HSA/FSA cards," plus PayPal, Affirm, Klarna and Afterpay.
- Hers says "Insurance isn't required." For FSA/HSA, it recommends paying with a regular card and then submitting your receipt. Its terms say the membership "is not an insurance plan." See does Hers take insurance and does Hers accept HSA/FSA.
If you want your insurance to pay for a brand-name drug, see GLP-1 providers that accept insurance.
Where can you get each one?
TrimRx's terms say it serves the 50 US states.
Hers says its weight loss program is "Not available in all 50 states." Check your state in its intake.
FDA warning letters
Hers: On September 9, 2025, the FDA sent a warning letter to Hims & Hers Health, Inc., doing business as Hers. It cited claims on forhers.com that its compounded semaglutide had the "same active ingredient as Ozempic and Wegovy." The FDA said compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and called those claims misleading. A warning letter is the FDA's view, not a court ruling. Hers's weight loss page listed no compounded drugs on November 4.
TrimRx: We found no FDA warning letter naming TrimRx or Metafit Pharma Solutions LLC. That doesn't mean the FDA has reviewed its drugs. See Is TrimRx FDA-approved? and our GLP-1 compounding enforcement tracker.
Who runs each company?
Hers is a brand of Hims & Hers Health, Inc., the same company behind Hims. If you're comparing the men's brand, see TrimRx vs Hims.
TrimRx is the brand of Metafit Pharma Solutions LLC in San Diego. TrimRx says it is "not a medical practice or a pharmacy." Its clinicians work through independent physician groups.

When is Hers the better pick?
A brand-name program like Hers makes more sense if:
- You want an FDA-approved drug, such as the Wegovy pill.
- You'd rather take a daily pill than a weekly shot.
- You want a members' community and a smart scale.
Before you pick Hers for a brand-name drug, compare Ro vs Hers, MEDVi vs Hers and Hers vs Mochi. MEDVi has received an FDA warning letter, which that page covers.
When is TrimRx the better pick?
TrimRx makes more sense if:
- You want a compounded shot at one monthly price, with no membership.
- You live in a state Hers doesn't serve. TrimRx serves all 50.
- You want to pay with PayPal, Affirm, Klarna or Afterpay.
- You want a 28-day window to get unused prepaid months back.

- Are under 18.
- Have had pancreatitis or gallbladder problems.
- Take insulin or other diabetes drugs.
GLP-1 safety: do not use if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer (MTC), or if you have MEN 2.
A licensed clinician decides if any GLP-1 is right for you. Neither company promises a prescription.
