TrimRx Cost in 2026: 8 Plan Totals, Break-Even Math, and Brand Prices

TrimRx weight management medication vial shown in a cost guide

By WPG Research Team · Last verified: August 7, 2026

Weight Loss Provider Guide is an independent comparison resource for GLP-1 telehealth providers. We may earn a commission if you use our links. It never changes your price, and it never changes what we publish. A cheaper option can pay us nothing and still come first.

The short answer

TrimRx cost starts at $209 for four weeks in the checkout route we verified, but the real decision is how much you prepay. On August 7, 2026, the checkout showed compounded semaglutide at $209 for 4 weeks, $523 for 12 weeks, $887 for 24 weeks, and $1,552 for 48 weeks. Compounded tirzepatide was $279, $747, $1,342, and $2,462 for the same plan lengths.

Divide those totals by the number of four-week cycles and the longest plan falls to $129.33 per four weeks for semaglutide and $205.17 for tirzepatide.

Now here's the part nobody tells you.

We could not confirm that the $209 and $279 four-week promo prices repeat. TrimRx's own pages conflict. Some call the intake price ongoing. Other pages talk about promotions, higher dose tiers, or prices that reset. The checkout also placed $299 and $399 behind the four-week promo prices as crossed-out anchors. That means there are two honest break-even calculations, not one. We show both.

The old “TrimRx is only $27 cheaper than a year of Wegovy pills” comparison is also wrong. It mixes 28-day TrimRx cycles with 30-day Wegovy pill bottles and holds the pill at a starting dose instead of using its labeled dose schedule. Over a matched 48 weeks, the $1,552 TrimRx semaglutide prepay is $1,736–$1,786 below the current cash outlay for enough Wegovy pill bottles to cover that period. That is a price comparison only. Compounded semaglutide is not the same finished drug as Wegovy, and there is no dose-for-dose equivalence in this table.

On tirzepatide, the 48-week TrimRx prepay is $2,226–$2,726 below two labeled-dose Zepbound price-run-rate examples built from LillyDirect's August 7, 2026 cash prices. But if the $279 TrimRx promo resets to $399, the month-to-month gap can shrink to $20 in the lower-price example. Lilly's self-pay terms are subject to refill, monthly, and annual limits, so the projected brand totals are planning math—not prepaid guarantees.

So TrimRx can be the clear cash-price winner when you prepay and use the full term. It is not automatically the winner when you pay four weeks at a time, have insurance, want an FDA-approved finished drug, or may stop early.

Checkout totals recorded from indexed checkout pages and cross-checked August 7, 2026. The checkout presented them as discounted prices. The four-week screens showed crossed-out anchors of $299 for semaglutide and $399 for tirzepatide. An anchor is not proof of what your next renewal will cost.

What we actually verified

We're going to ask you to trust a lot of numbers on this page, so here's exactly where they came from and what we didn't do.

We checked:

  • Every plan in the TrimRx checkout route — both medications and all four lengths
  • TrimRx's public pricing pages, comparison posts, checkout terms, terms page, and shipping policy
  • Cash prices directly from Novo Nordisk's NovoCare Pharmacy
  • Cash prices directly from Eli Lilly's LillyDirect
  • Ro's published membership, medication, and insurance-support pricing
  • The FDA's current position on compounded drugs and compounded GLP-1 marketing
  • TrimRx's live Trustpilot profile and Better Business Bureau profile
  • Every calculation in the plan, break-even, and 48-week comparison tables

We did not:

  • Enroll in TrimRx or receive medication
  • Submit a real prescription request
  • Test cancellation from inside a patient account
  • File a refund or guarantee claim
  • Verify the dispensing pharmacy for every patient or every state
  • Treat a marketing statement as independently verified just because TrimRx published it

How much does TrimRx cost per month?

TrimRx does not bill by calendar month in the plans we checked. It bills in four-week blocks. The current promotional checkout total was $209 for four weeks of compounded semaglutide and $279 for four weeks of compounded tirzepatide. Longer prepaid plans lowered the calculated four-week cost to $129.33 and $205.17, but required paying $1,552 or $2,462 upfront. There was no separate membership line item.

Before we go further, one thing has to be cleared up, because it trips up almost everybody.

TrimRx doesn't sell calendar months. It sells four-week blocks.

Look at those plan lengths again: 4 weeks, 12 weeks, 24 weeks, 48 weeks.

Not one month, three calendar months, six calendar months, and a year. Weeks.

That matters more than it sounds. A calendar year is 52 weeks. A 48-week plan is four weeks short. It covers 12 four-week cycles, not 13.

It also matters when you compare TrimRx with a manufacturer program. Novo Nordisk defines one Wegovy pen fill as a box of four weekly pens, which is a 28-day comparison. It defines one Wegovy pill fill as a bottle of 30 tablets. Eli Lilly defines a Zepbound self-pay month as 28 days.

So this page uses two rules:

  1. TrimRx plan math is always based on four-week cycles.
  2. Brand comparisons show the actual number of boxes or bottles you must buy to cover the stated period. We do not pretend a 30-day bottle is a 28-day cycle.

The full TrimRx checkout ledger

This is the table we couldn't find in one clean place, so we built it.

24 weeks6$1,918$1,342$223.67
48 weeks12$3,518$2,462$205.17

How we got these numbers:

  • Cost per four-week cycle = checkout total ÷ number of four-week cycles
  • No monthly rounding: every figure was calculated to the cent
  • No assumed insurance: TrimRx is treated as cash-pay
  • No assumed result: the math says nothing about how much weight anyone will lose
  • No assumed promo renewal: that uncertainty is handled in the next table

The renewal question changes the savings

The checkout showed $209 and $279 today. It did not give us a stable public sentence saying those exact prices repeat forever. TrimRx's other pages conflict.

That leaves two useful cases:

  • Case A — promo repeats: every four-week purchase stays $209 or $279.
  • Case B — promo ends: the first four weeks are $209 or $279, then the four-week anchor shown in that checkout becomes $299 or $399.

Neither case is a promise. They are bookends for planning until TrimRx confirms your exact renewal amount in writing.

Semaglutide savings under both cases

48 weeks$2,462$886Cycle 9$2,206Cycle 7

The bigger the regular renewal price, the faster the prepay plan wins. That sounds good for the prepay plan, but it also tells you why the renewal number matters so much.

One thing you still need in writing

Send support this exact question before you pay:

"My checkout shows $209 for semaglutide / $279 for tirzepatide today. What exact amount will my next four-week renewal cost if I choose the four-week plan? Is today's price first-cycle-only, and does price change with dose? Please answer in dollars."

Save the reply beside your checkout screenshot.

Why do I keep seeing $79, $99, $179, $199, $209, and $299 for TrimRx?

Because those numbers do not all mean the same thing. Some are first-cycle promotions. Some are rounded effective rates under a long prepay. Some belong to a different medication form or landing page. Some are crossed-out anchors. The number that matters is the full charge and next renewal amount on your own checkout screen.

We counted at least eleven semaglutide price figures across TrimRx pages, indexed snippets, checkout routes, and the math behind the plans during the same research window.

Tirzepatide has its own spread, including $205.17, $223.67, $249, $279, $299, $329, $349, $399, and $449 depending on plan length, page, dose language, and promotion.

And the sharpest version of all is this: TrimRx's own current content does not tell one clean pricing story. One official comparison page says the intake price is the standard ongoing price and does not revert. Other official pages say promotions can revert or higher doses can move to higher tiers.

Five kinds of price, and how to tell them apart

Once you can name them, you stop getting confused.

  1. First-cycle price. A one-time discount to get you started. It can reset later.
  2. Recurring price. What the next four-week cycle actually costs after any promo.
  3. Effective rate. A prepaid total divided into small pieces. $129.33 is real math, but $1,552 is what leaves your account.
  4. Anchor price. A crossed-out comparison number. It may be a standard rate, a higher tier, or simply a marketing reference. Do not assume you will never pay it.
  5. Amount charged or financed. The full commitment. This is the number that can hurt if you stop early.

When you see a TrimRx number anywhere — an ad, a review site, or this page — ask which of those five it is. That single habit protects you more than a “starting at” headline ever will.

The honest problem with all of this

TrimRx does not publish one stable number that answers every route, plan, dose, and renewal question. If clear list pricing matters more to you than the lowest possible prepay rate, Ro publishes its care fee in one place: $39 for the first month, then $74–$149 per month depending on the plan, with medication billed separately and dose prices shown openly.

But here's the trade. TrimRx prices by commitment. That's how a number like $129.33 per four weeks exists. You do not get it without putting down $1,552.

If you're the person who stays for the full term, that can be your advantage. If you're not sure yet, don't let the lowest per-cycle number make the decision for you. Start with the shortest commitment your budget can absorb, or compare programs built around a shorter lock-in.

One more thing: a countdown is not a contract term

A promotional countdown appeared in the checkout route we reviewed. A timer does not prove when a price ends or who qualifies for it.

We're not going to copy that trick. There is no timer on this page and no reason to rush. Ask support for the written expiration date and eligibility rules. If the answer is vague, treat the full price and renewal terms as unresolved.

Which TrimRx plan is actually cheapest for how long you'll really use it?

The longest plan has the lowest per-cycle price, but the right plan depends on your real stopping point and your real four-week renewal price. If the promo repeats, the 48-week plan breaks even at cycle 8 for semaglutide and cycle 9 for tirzepatide. If the promo resets to the displayed $299 or $399 anchor after cycle 1, the same plans break even at cycles 6 and 7.

This is the calculation nobody runs, and it's the one that costs people the most money.

24 weeksCycle 4 of 6Cycle 4 of 6
48 weeksCycle 6 of 12Cycle 7 of 12

Read the 48-week rows again.

Under the repeat-promo case, you hand over $1,552 for semaglutide and do not come out ahead until cycle 8. Stop after cycle 6 and the long “discount” cost more than six separate $209 cycles would have.

Under the reset case, the same prepay clears break-even earlier because the alternative becomes more expensive. That does not make the reset good. It just makes the long plan look better against it.

That's not a trick. That's how every prepay discount works. It's just that nobody shows you both renewal cases.

Three people, three right answers

"I don't know whether this program or medication will fit me."

Take the shortest financial commitment. It has the highest per-cycle price, but it limits how much money is tied up if a licensed clinician decides the treatment is not right, you have side effects, the service does not fit, or your plans change. Do not prepay $1,552 or $2,462 just to chase the smallest number in a table.

"I'm planning on about 24 weeks."

The 24-week plan is six four-week cycles. It breaks even by cycle 5 if the promo repeats, or by cycle 4 if it resets to the displayed anchor. That makes it the middle path: lower cost than buying six cycles separately without betting on the full 48 weeks.

One detail: 24 weeks is about five and a half calendar months, not a full six calendar months. If your personal timeline is six calendar months, confirm how TrimRx handles the extra days before you assume the plan covers them.

"I'm in this for the full 48 weeks."

The 48-week plan has the lowest cost per four-week cycle in this checkout ledger: $129.33 for semaglutide and $205.17 for tirzepatide. Just go in knowing that $1,552 or $2,462 is committed at once, the checkout says unused months in a multi-month package will not be refunded, and 48 weeks is not a full 52-week year.

Run your own numbers

Your checkout may show something different from ours. Promotions move. Put in the number on your screen, not the number you hoped to see.

Is TrimRx actually cheaper than Wegovy or Ozempic?

The 48-week TrimRx semaglutide prepay is cheaper than current manufacturer cash prices for Wegovy pill, Wegovy pen, and Ozempic. The four-week TrimRx path is not always cheaper once a promo ends, and insurance can reverse the whole result.

This is the section that isn't on most TrimRx cost pages, and it's the reason we rebuilt the math.

Almost every old comparison uses Wegovy's list price of about $1,349 per package. That is not the only cash price anymore. Novo Nordisk now publishes much lower self-pay offers through NovoCare Pharmacy.

Ozempic2 mg$499 per pen
Wegovy with eligible commercial insuranceCovered doseAs little as $25 per month, subject to savings limits and terms

One Wegovy pill “month” is one bottle of 30 tablets. One Wegovy pen “month” is one box of four pens. Ozempic is FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes and other labeled uses, not as a chronic-weight-management drug. Its prices are shown here only because people search this comparison. This is not a recommendation to use it off-label.

The Wegovy pill does not stay at 1.5 mg for a year

The labeled pill schedule starts at 1.5 mg for days 1–30, moves to 4 mg for days 31–60, then 9 mg for days 61–90, and reaches 25 mg from day 91 forward unless the prescriber directs otherwise.

That matters because the lower starting price does not describe the whole year.

It also means we will not compare TrimRx's compounded dose with a Wegovy pill dose as though they are interchangeable. They are different finished products under different regulatory pathways. The table below compares cash access over time, not medical equivalence.

The corrected 48-week semaglutide price-run-rate

Forty-eight weeks is 336 days.

  • Eleven Wegovy pill bottles cover 330 days, which is six days short.
  • Twelve bottles cover 360 days, so 12 is the real cash purchase needed to cover the full 48-week window.
  • The standard post-August-31 pill path is $149 + $199 + ten fills at $299 = $3,338.
  • If the 4 mg $149 offer applies to the second fill before it expires, subtract $50, for $3,288.

These brand figures use prices published on August 7, 2026. Novo Nordisk can change or end its offers, so this is a planning run-rate, not a guaranteed 48-week bill.

What the corrected math says

Long TrimRx prepay vs. Wegovy pill: TrimRx is $1,736–$1,786 less over the 48-week access window.

Long TrimRx prepay vs. Wegovy pen: TrimRx is $2,336 less.

TrimRx four weeks at a time if $209 repeats: TrimRx is $780–$830 less than the pill path.

TrimRx if the first promo resets to $299: TrimRx is $160–$210 more than the pill path, but $390 less than the pen path.

That is the real crossover. It is not “starter dose versus starter dose.” It is long prepay versus labeled brand cash path, or uncertain month-to-month renewal versus a published manufacturer program.

Where insurance changes everything

If eligible commercial insurance covers Wegovy and the savings card applies, the out-of-pocket cost can be as little as $25 per month, subject to a maximum savings amount and program rules. Nothing in this cash-pay comparison competes with a covered $25 fill.

Run the coverage question before you put down $1,552. You are not disloyal to a cheap cash program by checking whether your plan will pay for an FDA-approved drug. You are doing the math in the right order.

The catch with manufacturer-direct cash prices

NovoCare Pharmacy still needs a prescription. It does not replace the clinician who decides whether Wegovy is right for you.

If you already have a prescriber willing to send the prescription there, manufacturer direct can avoid a telehealth membership.

If you do not have a prescriber or you want insurance paperwork handled, Ro is the cleaner brand-focused path. Ro's care fee is $39 for the first month, then $74–$149 per month depending on the plan. Medication is separate. Ro publishes Wegovy pill at $149 for 1.5 mg, $149 for the limited 4 mg offer, and $299 for 9 mg and 25 mg. It also runs a free insurance check and says its team handles prior-authorization paperwork.

What does TrimRx tirzepatide cost, and is it worth it?

TrimRx tirzepatide was $279 for four weeks in the checkout route we checked and $2,462 for 48 weeks prepaid, or $205.17 per four-week cycle. At August 7, 2026 prices, the long TrimRx plan is $2,226–$2,726 below two transparent 48-week Zepbound price-run-rate examples. If the TrimRx first-cycle promo resets to $399 renewals, the gap can shrink to $20–$520.

If the semaglutide section made the decision look close in some cases, this one is different. The long prepay is where TrimRx's cash-price case is strongest. The month-to-month case still depends on renewal.

What Zepbound actually costs in cash

Eli Lilly's current self-pay prices define one month as 28 days.

TrimRx cost comparison table 12
Zepbound doseLillyDirect self-pay pricePrice if the 45-day refill rule is missed
2.5 mg starting dose$299
5 mg maintenance option$399
7.5 mg escalation dose$449 when refilled within 45 days$499
10 mg maintenance option$449 when refilled within 45 days$699
12.5 mg escalation dose$449 when refilled within 45 days$699
15 mg maintenance option$449 when refilled within 45 days$699

The label and LillyDirect both say 2.5 mg is a starting dose, not an approved maintenance dose. For weight reduction, the labeled maintenance options are 5 mg, 10 mg, and 15 mg. The 7.5 mg and 12.5 mg doses are escalation steps. A provider chooses the path based on response and tolerability. We will not pretend every patient follows one identical path.

That is why the table below uses two labeled-price examples instead of calling one of them “realistic” for everybody.

The corrected 48-week price-run-rate

Lower-price labeled example: one 2.5 mg fill at $299, then eleven 5 mg fills at $399.

  • Total: $4,688

Higher-dose labeled example: one 2.5 mg starting fill at $299, one 5 mg fill at $399, one 7.5 mg escalation fill at $449, then nine 10 mg maintenance fills at $449.

  • Total: $5,188

These Zepbound figures use prices published on August 7, 2026. Lilly says refill, monthly, and annual limits apply and the program can change, so this is a planning run-rate, not a guaranteed 48-week bill.

The listed LillyDirect drug prices may not include every tax, fee, or supply cost. The single-dose vial requires needles and syringes purchased separately; device availability can vary.

TrimRx cost comparison table 13
Path48-week total at August 7 prices
TrimRx tirzepatide, 48 weeks prepaid$2,462
TrimRx, 12 separate cycles at $279$3,348, only if $279 repeats
TrimRx, first cycle $279 then 11 cycles at $399$4,668
Zepbound lower-price labeled example$4,688
Zepbound higher-dose labeled example$5,188

What the corrected math says

TrimRx 48-week prepay: is $2,226–$2,726 lower than those two Zepbound price-run-rate examples at August 7 prices.

TrimRx at $279 every cycle: saves $1,340–$1,840, if that promo really repeats.

TrimRx at $279 once, then $399: saves only $20 against the lower-price Zepbound example and $520 against the higher-dose example.

That's not a rounding difference on the long plan. That's a used car.

But the month-to-month reset case tells a different story: the compounded route can land almost on top of FDA-approved Zepbound cash pricing. That is why you need the renewal amount in writing before you call either option “cheap.”

Where insurance flips it

Eligible commercially insured Zepbound patients may pay as little as $25 under Lilly's savings program, subject to eligibility and program limits. If your plan covers it, use the covered FDA-approved path unless your clinician gives you a patient-specific reason not to.

Check coverage first. It takes minutes and can save thousands.

One question to ask before you prepay

TrimRx's own pages conflict on dose pricing. Some say the same price applies at every dose. Others say higher doses can move into a higher tier.

We cannot resolve that from the outside. You can, in about two minutes. Send support this:

"I'm considering the 48-week tirzepatide plan. Is the full $2,462 the complete cost for all 48 weeks if my prescriber changes my dose? Can any dose change create another medication charge or move me to a higher price tier? Please confirm in writing."

Save the reply. If the answer is truly flat, you have locked down the strongest cash-price advantage on this page. If it is not, you just saved yourself a surprise.

What patients say about the cost

A common reason people give for choosing compounded tirzepatide is simple: the FDA-approved cash bill can feel impossible without coverage. That explains the demand TrimRx serves.

It does not prove the medication is safe, effective, properly compounded, or right for any one person. Customer reviews are service and billing reports, not clinical evidence. A licensed clinician still has to decide what is appropriate.

✅ Tirzepatide is where the long TrimRx plan has its clearest verified price advantage.

If you accept compounded medication, can use the full 48 weeks, and get the dose-price rule in writing, the prepaid total is $2,226–$2,726 below the two Zepbound price-run-rate examples above.

What's included in the TrimRx price — and what isn't?

The TrimRx checkout price bundles the telehealth service, medication if prescribed, and shipping into one charge. TrimRx also says clinician access, dose support, and injection supplies are included. There is no separate membership line item in the checkout we reviewed. Structured nutrition coaching, routine lab work, and insurance billing are not part of the basic cash price.

The no-membership-fee point is a real advantage and deserves credit.

Ro's cost is two bills: care membership plus medication. So is much of the market. If you have been burned by a program where the headline number was only half the statement, one bundled TrimRx checkout total is easier to understand — as long as you read the plan length.

Does TrimRx auto-renew, and what happens if you cancel?

Yes. The checkout says TrimRx enrolls buyers in an auto-renewing subscription and charges the saved payment method at the stated intervals until cancellation. It also says cancellation stops future charges, refunds are governed by the refund policy, cancellation fees may apply, and unused medication or remaining months in a multi-month package will not be refunded.

This is the most expensive thing on this page. Read it twice.

The refund window is not the same as the renewal window

Most people think “cancel anytime” means they can undo whatever just happened.

That is not what the checkout language says.

The current checkout calls the order a binding, final transaction. It says cancellation stops future charges. It does not promise that canceling reverses a charge that already processed, pays off a financing agreement, or refunds the unused balance of a long plan.

TrimRx's shipping policy adds one concrete protection: if the medication has not shipped within 14 days of the order, the customer may request a refund. Read the current policy before relying on it because policies can change.

The exact cancellation-fee amount is not publicly listed in the checkout text we found. The draft cited a $38 reviewer report. That is not a fee schedule, so it does not belong here as fact.

What this actually means for you

It's simple, and it's the single most useful sentence on this page:

Decide your plan before you press submit, not after.

Before you submit, know:

  • the full charge
  • the next charge date
  • the next charge amount
  • whether the promo repeats
  • whether dose changes affect price
  • whether a cancellation fee applies to your plan
  • what happens to unused prepaid weeks
  • how financing is handled

You do not need to be afraid of TrimRx. You need to read the checkout screen like a contract.

What customers report

We are not using individual review quotes as policy evidence. Reviews are self-reported, and a reviewer can misunderstand a plan just as a company can communicate it badly.

The useful signal is the shape of the live record.

As of August 7, 2026, TrimRx held a 3.6 out of 5 on Trustpilot across 5,488 reviews. The distribution was unusually split:

  • 59% five-star
  • 3% four-star
  • 1% three-star
  • 4% two-star
  • 33% one-star

Only 8% of reviews sat in the middle three ratings. That is not a normal “mostly fine” curve. It is a lot of very happy customers and a lot of very unhappy customers.

The live review text commonly touches shipping, support, billing, and cancellation. Those are customer reports, not findings by a regulator and not proof about medical safety or effectiveness.

Also worth knowing: TrimRx's BBB profile currently says, “This business profile is under review.” The profile does not display a current rating or accreditation status. Under review is not a finding of wrongdoing. It means BBB is not giving you a usable rating right now.

How to cancel, and what to save

  1. Find the next renewal date and amount in your account or checkout record.
  2. Contact support before that date through the channel TrimRx currently accepts. The public contact details list 888-896-1612 and hello@trimrx.com.
  3. Say clearly: “Cancel all future renewals.”
  4. Ask whether a cancellation fee or remaining obligation applies to your exact plan.
  5. Ask whether an order has already been processed or sent to the pharmacy.
  6. Save the chat, email, ticket number, and timestamp.
  7. Ask for written confirmation that future billing is stopped.
  8. Check your card after the date the next charge would have hit.
  9. If you used financing, contact the financing company separately. Canceling TrimRx does not cancel the loan.

Can you use insurance, HSA, or FSA with TrimRx?

TrimRx's main compounded program is cash-pay and does not bill insurance. TrimRx says HSA and FSA payments are accepted, but a card going through is not the same as your plan administrator approving the expense.

Three different questions get mashed together here. Let's separate them.

Will TrimRx bill my insurance? No, not for the main compounded cash program.

Can I enter an HSA or FSA card? TrimRx says yes.

Will my HSA or FSA administrator approve it? That depends on the expense, your plan, and your documentation. The IRS says a weight-loss program can qualify when it treats a specific disease diagnosed by a physician, such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, or heart disease. A general wellness expense does not qualify just because it relates to weight.

Can I submit for reimbursement? Possibly. Keep the prescription, itemized receipt, provider documentation, and any letter of medical necessity your administrator requests. There is no guarantee.

If you have coverage, use it

We'll be blunt because it could save you a lot of money.

Eligible commercially insured patients may pay as little as $25 per month for Wegovy or Zepbound under manufacturer savings programs, subject to coverage and program limits. Nothing in a cash-pay compounded table beats a covered $25 fill.

Start with how to check GLP-1 coverage and prior-authorization rules. Do that before paying cash.

About financing

Financing is not a lower price. It's the same price or a higher price spread out.

  • The full obligation stays the same unless the financing adds interest or fees
  • Interest can make the total higher
  • Canceling TrimRx does not cancel the financing agreement
  • A financed payment may cover only one treatment term
  • Always compare the cash total with the total of all scheduled payments

If you cannot comfortably cover the full obligation, that is useful information about which plan length is right for your budget.

What medication are you actually paying for?

TrimRx's main cash program provides compounded semaglutide or compounded tirzepatide when prescribed — not the FDA-approved finished products sold as Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro, or Zepbound. The FDA does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are marketed the way it reviews approved drugs.

You're spending real money, so you should know exactly what you're buying.

Compounded means a pharmacy prepares a drug for a patient under a prescription and the legal conditions that apply to that pharmacy. It is a different regulatory category. It is not an FDA-approved generic, and it is not the same finished product as the brand-name drug.

There is no FDA-approved generic semaglutide or generic tirzepatide in the United States as of August 7, 2026. Compounded versions are not generics.

The claim you'll see everywhere — and why we won't repeat it

Some TrimRx content says compounded products use “the same active ingredient” or frames the difference as only regulatory.

We're not going to make that claim.

The FDA has told marketers they cannot call compounded GLP-1 products generic versions, the same as an approved drug, or clinically proven to produce the same result. The agency also says compounded drugs are not FDA-approved.

What we can say plainly: compounded medication has not gone through FDA premarket review for safety, effectiveness, or quality. That is a real difference, and it is part of what you trade for access and a lower price.

The national shortage rules that opened the door to broad copy compounding are no longer in place.

  • The FDA confirmed the tirzepatide injection shortage was resolved in December 2024.
  • The FDA confirmed the semaglutide injection shortage was resolved in February 2025.
  • The shortage-based enforcement-discretion periods ended in 2025.
  • On April 1, 2026, the FDA reminded compounders that the normal 503A and 503B conditions still have to be met.
  • On April 30, 2026, the FDA proposed excluding semaglutide, tirzepatide, and liraglutide from the 503B bulks list after saying it did not find a clinical need for outsourcing facilities to compound them from bulk substances.
  • As of August 7, 2026, we found the proposal and public-comment process, but no posted final FDA determination replacing the proposal.

This does not mean every patient-specific compounded prescription is automatically illegal. A 503A pharmacy may still compound under federal and state law when the statutory conditions are met, including patient-specific prescribing and limits on making drugs that are essentially copies of approved products. The facts of the prescription matter.

It does mean the broad 2023–2024 “approved drug is short, so make copies at scale” lane has closed.

Why this belongs on a cost page

If you prepay $1,552 or $2,462 and the provider or pharmacy becomes unable to fill the same product during your term, what happens to the unused balance?

That's a fair question and you're allowed to ask it. Send support this before you prepay:

"If TrimRx or the dispensing pharmacy becomes unable to fill my compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide during the prepaid term, what happens to the unused balance? Will I receive a refund, a different product, or store credit? Please confirm in writing."

Their written answer is part of the price.

FDA risks worth knowing, without turning them into panic

The FDA's June 2026 GLP-1 safety page says it has seen:

  • fraudulent compounded labels that named pharmacies that did not make the product
  • dosing errors with compounded injectable semaglutide, including some hospitalizations
  • products using semaglutide salt forms that are different active ingredients from those in approved drugs
  • adverse-event reports tied to compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, with likely underreporting because many state-licensed pharmacies are not required to send reports to the FDA

That is a market-wide warning. It is not a finding that every TrimRx shipment has one of those problems.

The practical response is not panic. It is verification.

What to ask about your specific prescription

  • The exact drug name and dosage form
  • Whether it is an injection, tablet, sublingual product, or another form
  • The dispensing pharmacy's legal name and state
  • Whether the pharmacy is operating under section 503A or as a registered 503B outsourcing facility
  • What ingredient form is on the prescription and label
  • The dose written in milligrams and the volume written in milliliters, if injectable
  • Storage and shipping instructions
  • What to do if the package arrives warm or damaged
  • Who to contact about a side effect or dosing question
  • What happens to prepaid money if the product cannot be filled

We did not authenticate every pharmacy partner for every state or patient. We're not going to pretend we did.

Full breakdown: is TrimRx FDA approved?

Is TrimRx worth the cost?

TrimRx is worth considering when you understand the compounded tradeoff, have no cheaper insurance path, can use the full prepaid term, and verify the renewal and dose-price rules first. It is the wrong financial fit when you may stop before break-even, need a refundable balance, want an FDA-approved finished drug, or have insurance that can cut the brand cost.

Here's our actual verdict, based on everything above.

✅ TrimRx makes financial sense if:

  • You accept compounded medication after talking with a licensed clinician. The lower price is not the same product as Wegovy or Zepbound.
  • You can use the full long plan. The 48-week totals are where the strongest savings live.
  • You clear your break-even point. Cycle 8 or 9 if the promo repeats; cycle 6 or 7 if it resets to the displayed anchor.
  • You want one bundled checkout total. No separate membership line is a real convenience.
  • You want tirzepatide and have no coverage. At August 7 prices, the 48-week prepay is $2,226–$2,726 below the two Zepbound price-run-rate examples on this page.
  • You want semaglutide and can prepay. The 48-week total is $1,736–$1,786 below the current Wegovy pill cash purchase needed to cover that time.
  • You have the renewal amount, dose-price rule, pharmacy, and refund terms in writing.
  • You can afford the full charge without needing a refund to rescue your budget.

❌ Look somewhere else if:

  • You have insurance that may cover Wegovy or Zepbound. A covered brand fill can be far cheaper. → Learn how to check coverage
  • You need an FDA-approved finished drug. That is a legitimate line, and the main TrimRx cash program cannot meet it. → Compare FDA-approved GLP-1 paths
  • You are not sure you will reach cycle 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9. The exact break-even depends on the plan and renewal case.
  • You cannot absorb $887, $1,342, $1,552, or $2,462 at once. Financing does not lower the obligation.
  • You need unused months to be refundable. The checkout says remaining months in a multi-month package will not be refunded.
  • You need one simple, stable public renewal price. TrimRx's own pages conflict.
  • You do not want to verify the pharmacy and label. Compounded care asks more of the buyer.

Our bottom line: the smallest rate is not the answer by itself. The answer is the plan whose break-even point you will reach, on a product you understand, at a renewal price you verified before you clicked.

For a cash-pay tirzepatide patient who accepts compounded medication and can use all 48 weeks, the long TrimRx total has a large verified price edge over current LillyDirect cash examples.

For a person paying four weeks at a time after a promo reset, the advantage can nearly disappear. For anyone with insurance, the brand path can win by thousands.

What should you screenshot before you pay?

Save the eight items below from your own checkout because TrimRx's published prices vary and the checkout terms can bind you before you have time to reconstruct what you saw. The most important are the full charge, the weeks covered, the next renewal amount, and the unused-month rule.

Do this before you submit. It takes two minutes and can be the difference between having a record and having an argument.

  1. The medication and form — compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide; injection, oral, or another form
  2. The dispensing pharmacy — legal name, location, and any 503A/503B information shown
  3. The supply length — 4, 12, 24, or 48 weeks
  4. The advertised rate and the full charge — capture both the small number and the amount leaving your account
  5. The promotion rule — code, expiration, first-cycle language, and what happens next
  6. The next renewal date and exact renewal amount
  7. The cancellation, fee, refund, unused-month, and financing language
  8. The charge trigger — when the card is charged, what “if prescribed” means, and whether the order is called final

Put them in one folder. Set a reminder at least five days before the renewal date. That's it — that's the whole protection plan.

How we verified this

We pulled all eight TrimRx checkout totals on August 7, 2026, converted each to an exact four-week cost, and calculated break-even under two renewal cases. We then rebuilt the brand comparisons using the number of 28-day boxes or 30-day bottles actually needed to cover the same time window and the manufacturers' current labeled dose schedules.

Where our numbers came from, in order of weight

  1. TrimRx's indexed checkout pages, plan by plan
  2. TrimRx's checkout consent language, terms page, and shipping policy
  3. NovoCare Pharmacy pricing and Wegovy dose schedule
  4. LillyDirect pricing and Zepbound dose/refill rules
  5. Ro's published membership, medication, and insurance-support pages
  6. FDA compounding guidance, GLP-1 statements, and 2026 enforcement announcements
  7. TrimRx's public pricing and comparison content, used to document conflicts rather than settle them
  8. Trustpilot and BBB, for reputation snapshots only
  9. Individual reviews, used only to understand themes — never as proof of policy, safety, or wrongdoing

The formulas

  • Cost per four-week cycle = checkout total ÷ number of four-week cycles
  • Repeat-promo pay-as-you-go cost = current four-week promo × cycles
  • Reset-case pay-as-you-go cost = first promo + displayed four-week anchor × remaining cycles
  • Savings = pay-as-you-go cost over the plan term − prepaid checkout total
  • Break-even = first cycle where cumulative pay-as-you-go spending meets or exceeds the prepay
  • Wegovy pill cash outlay = whole 30-tablet bottles required to cover the time window under the labeled escalation schedule
  • Zepbound examples = transparent labeled-dose sequences priced at August 7, 2026 rates, not a claim about what dose any reader should use or a guarantee that the offer will last 48 weeks
  • All displayed dollar calculations are rounded to the nearest cent

What we didn't do

We did not enroll, receive medication, test support, test cancellation, file a refund claim, inspect a shipment, or verify every dispensing pharmacy. When we say a price is verified, we mean we found it in the named source on the stated date and checked the math. It does not mean the same price will appear for every person, state, campaign, or day.

Found a different number?

Prices move. If your checkout shows something different, use your number in the calculator and save the screen. You can also send our editorial team the medication, plan length, date, and a screenshot with personal information removed so we can re-check the ledger.

TrimRx cost: quick answers

How much does TrimRx cost per month?

TrimRx charges in four-week cycles in the plans we checked. The August 7, 2026 checkout showed $209 for four weeks of compounded semaglutide and $279 for four weeks of compounded tirzepatide. Longer prepaid plans brought the exact four-week cost down to $129.33 and $205.17.

Why does TrimRx advertise $79 or $99?

Those are promotional or effective-rate figures from other TrimRx pages and routes. They are not the full amount due for the 4-, 12-, 24-, or 48-week checkout totals verified on this page. Always separate a first-cycle price, per-cycle math, and the full charge.

What's the real recurring price?

We could not confirm one stable recurring price tied to the exact $209 and $279 checkout route. The four-week screens showed $299 and $399 as crossed-out anchors, while TrimRx's other pages conflict about whether intake pricing stays flat, resets, or changes with dose. Get your next renewal amount in writing.

Does TrimRx have a membership fee?

There was no separate membership charge in the checkout we reviewed. The total bundles the telehealth service, medication if prescribed, and shipping. Confirm what supplies and support are included in your exact plan.

Does TrimRx cost more at higher doses?

TrimRx's own content conflicts. Some pages say every dose costs the same. Other pages say higher doses can move to a higher tier. Do not assume either one. Ask for a written answer tied to your medication and plan before prepaying.

What's the cheapest way to pay for TrimRx?

The lowest per-cycle option in this checkout ledger is the 48-week plan: $1,552 for semaglutide or $2,462 for tirzepatide, equal to $129.33 and $205.17 per four weeks. It is only the right financial choice if you can use enough of the term to clear break-even and can live with the no-refund language for remaining months.

Does TrimRx auto-renew?

Yes. The checkout says it enrolls the buyer in an auto-renewing subscription and charges the saved payment method until cancellation under the terms.

Can I cancel TrimRx and get my money back?

Canceling stops future charges under the checkout language. It does not promise to reverse a processed charge or refund unused months in a multi-month package. The shipping policy says a customer may request a refund if medication has not shipped within 14 days. Read the current policy before relying on it.

Does TrimRx refund unused months on a long plan?

The checkout says multi-month packages will not be refunded for unused medication or remaining months. Treat the full prepay as committed.

Does TrimRx charge a cancellation fee?

The checkout says cancellation fees may apply. We did not find a current public dollar amount or fee schedule. Ask support what fee applies to your exact plan and get the answer in writing.

Does TrimRx take insurance?

The main compounded program is cash-pay and does not bill insurance. If your plan covers an FDA-approved GLP-1, that path can be much cheaper.

Can I use an HSA or FSA card?

TrimRx says it accepts HSA and FSA payments. Final eligibility depends on your plan and documentation. The IRS says a weight-loss program can qualify when it treats a specific disease diagnosed by a physician, not when it is only for general wellness.

Is TrimRx cheaper than Wegovy?

The 48-week TrimRx semaglutide prepay is cheaper than current NovoCare cash paths in this comparison. It is $1,736–$1,786 below enough Wegovy pill bottles to cover 48 weeks and $2,336 below the Wegovy pen example. If TrimRx resets to $299 after the first cycle, its 48-week month-to-month total is $160–$210 above the pill path. Insurance can make Wegovy much cheaper than either cash route.

Is TrimRx cheaper than Zepbound?

At August 7, 2026 prices, the 48-week TrimRx tirzepatide prepay is $2,226–$2,726 below the two LillyDirect price-run-rate examples on this page. If the $279 promo resets to $399, TrimRx's 48-week total becomes $4,668 — only $20 below the lower-price Zepbound example. Insurance can flip the result.

Is TrimRx FDA-approved?

TrimRx is a telehealth company, not a drug. The main medications it ships under the cash program are compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide. Those compounded products are not FDA-approved finished drugs and are not FDA-approved generics.

Is TrimRx a scam?

We found a real operating telehealth business with a live checkout, public contact details, thousands of reviews, and a BBB profile. That does not erase the sharply split review record or make every claim true. Trustpilot showed 3.6/5 across 5,488 reviews, and BBB showed the profile under review on August 7, 2026. Read the terms and verify the pharmacy before paying.

The bottom line on TrimRx cost

TrimRx cost isn't one number, and anyone who tells you it is has not opened the plan table.

It is $209 or $279 for the current four-week promo route. It is $129.33 or $205.17 per four weeks when you put down $1,552 or $2,462 for 48 weeks. It sits between those points on the 12- and 24-week plans.

The question that changes every break-even table is still open: does the four-week promo repeat, or does it reset? Do not guess. Ask for the next renewal amount in dollars.

On semaglutide, the corrected 48-week math says the long TrimRx prepay is $1,736–$1,786 below the current Wegovy pill cash purchase needed to cover the same period and $2,336 below the pen example. The old $27 tie was built on mismatched time units and a starting dose held for a year. It did not hold up.

On tirzepatide, the 48-week TrimRx prepay is $2,226–$2,726 below the two Zepbound price-run-rate examples at August 7 prices. But if the TrimRx promo resets to $399, the month-to-month total can land only $20 below the lower-price Zepbound path.

Insurance can beat all of it. FDA-approved status can matter more to you than the cash difference. A nonrefundable prepay can be a bad deal even when its per-cycle rate is the lowest on the page.

Either way, you're not guessing anymore. You have the totals, both break-even cases, the matched-time comparisons, and the exact questions to ask.

Screenshot your checkout, get the renewal and dose-price rules in writing, pick the commitment you can actually use, and go.
