Hers Weight Loss Pills: Which GLP-1 Pill, What It Costs
By WPG Research Team · Last verified · Last updated
On November 4, 2026, Hers sold three GLP-1 weight loss pills: the Wegovy pill, the Foundayo pill and the Ozempic pill. Each started at $149 a month for the medicine. You also pay a required membership: $39 the first month, then $149 a month. Only Wegovy and Foundayo are FDA-approved for weight loss.
So the real starting price is $298 a month after month one. Below: how each pill is taken, which one fits whom, what a year costs, and the one claim on Hers's own site that doesn't match the FDA label.
Weight Loss Provider Guide is an independent comparison resource for GLP-1 telehealth providers.
Bottom line: If you want a weight loss pill from Hers, the Wegovy pill or Foundayo are the two approved for weight loss. The Ozempic pill is approved for type 2 diabetes, so for weight loss it's off-label.
Best for: Women who want a daily pill instead of a weekly shot, will pay cash, and like an all-in-one app with 24/7 messaging.
Not best for: Anyone who wants insurance to pay, or wants to see the price of every dose before signing up. Also anyone pregnant, trying to get pregnant, breastfeeding or under 18.
What matters most: Hers shows "from" prices only. Higher doses can cost more, and the $149 membership never goes away while you're on treatment.
Hers weight loss pills at a glance
| Pill at Hers | Active ingredient | FDA-approved for weight loss? | How you take it | Hers price (medicine only) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wegovy pill | Semaglutide | Yes (approved December 22, 2025) | Once a day, morning, empty stomach, wait 30 minutes | From $149/month |
| Wegovy pill microdosing plan | Semaglutide (stops at 4 mg) | The drug is; Hers says microdosing is off-label | Same as Wegovy pill | From $149/month |
| Foundayo pill | Orforglipron | Yes (approved April 1, 2026) | Once a day, any time, no food or water rules | From $149/month |
| Ozempic pill | Semaglutide | No. Approved for type 2 diabetes | Once a day, morning, empty stomach, wait 30 minutes | From $149/month |
Prices and how-to-take rules are from Hers's own pages on November 4, 2026. FDA status is from FDA approval records and drug labels. Every Hers pill also needs the Hers membership, billed separately.
On November 4, Hers's weight loss page listed only these GLP-1 pills. We didn't see any other kind of weight loss pill there, and no compounded pills.
What does a Hers weight loss pill cost?
A Hers GLP-1 pill costs at least $188 for month one and at least $298 a month after that. That's the $149 lowest pill price plus the membership. Hers says pill prices are "from" prices and that "pricing may vary by dosage."
| Month 1 | Month 2 and later | Year one (12 months) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Membership | $39 | $149 | $1,678 |
| Pill at the lowest listed price | $149 | $149 | $1,788 |
| Total, at the lowest price | $188 | $298 | $3,466 |
Year one is our math: $39 plus 11 months at $149 for the membership, plus 12 months of medicine at $149. It's a floor. If your dose goes up and the price goes up, so does your total.
Think of it like a gym that also sells the protein shake. The $149 shake price is real, but you can't buy it without the $149 membership.
A few rules from Hers's terms (last updated October 20, 2026) are worth knowing before you pay:
- The first month's membership fee is non-refundable.
- No refund on medicine once it ships.
- Two subscriptions. Canceling the medicine plan doesn't cancel the membership. Cancel at least 2 days before your billing date.
For the full fee breakdown, see does Hers have a membership fee.
The right pill isn't the same for everyone. It depends on your state, your budget, whether you have insurance, and whether you want a pill or a shot. Our free tool sorts that out in about 2 minutes, with no signup.
See which GLP-1 pill path fits youIs the Ozempic pill at Hers approved for weight loss?
No. The Ozempic pill is FDA-approved for adults with type 2 diabetes, not for weight loss. Hers's own Ozempic pill page says it's for type 2 diabetes and "may be prescribed off-label."
The Ozempic pill is oral semaglutide, the same kind of drug once sold as Rybelsus, at new doses. The FDA approved Ozempic tablets on February 4, 2026, and they reached US pharmacies on May 4. Its FDA label covers blood sugar control and lowering heart risk in adults with type 2 diabetes.
Here's the catch we found. On November 4, a "Which pill is right for you?" table on Hers's Ozempic pill page showed "FDA approved for weight loss" under both the Ozempic pill and the Wegovy pill. That's true for Wegovy. It isn't true for Ozempic, per the FDA label.
Off-label means a doctor prescribes a drug for a use the FDA didn't approve. It's legal, and a clinician can decide it fits you. But if your goal is weight loss, the Wegovy pill has the same active ingredient and is approved for that job. Ask your Hers provider why they'd pick one over the other.
Wegovy pill vs Foundayo: which Hers pill fits you?
Both are FDA-approved weight loss pills, and both start at $149 a month at Hers. The big difference is the daily routine. Wegovy has strict morning rules. Foundayo has none.
| Wegovy pill | Foundayo pill | |
|---|---|---|
| Made by | Novo Nordisk | Eli Lilly |
| Ingredient | Semaglutide | Orforglipron |
| When to take | Morning, on an empty stomach | Any time of day |
| Food and water | Small sip of water, then wait 30 minutes to eat or drink | No rules, per Hers |
| Average loss in the main trial | 13.6% over 64 weeks (OASIS 4), vs 2.4% on placebo | 11.1% over 72 weeks (ATTAIN-1), vs 2.1% on placebo |
| Dose steps at Hers | 1.5 mg, 4 mg, 9 mg, then 25 mg | Not listed on Hers's page |
Trial numbers are from the makers' own reports and count everyone in the trial, whether or not they stayed on the drug. The two drugs weren't tested against each other, so don't read the gap as a head-to-head result. Your results will vary.
Pick the Wegovy pill if you're fine with a set morning routine and want the larger average loss seen in its trial.
Pick Foundayo if your mornings are messy, you take other pills at breakfast, or you know you'll forget the 30-minute wait.
Want the deeper version? See Foundayo vs Wegovy pill.
What is the Hers Wegovy pill microdosing plan?
It's the same Wegovy pill, but the plan stops at 4 mg instead of going up to 25 mg. Hers says it's for people with "more modest goals (typically 5–20 lbs)."
Hers is open about the limits. Its page says microdosing "is off-label" and that "lower doses are unstudied for weight loss and may be less effective." The FDA label for Wegovy tablets sets 25 mg as the maintenance dose.
So the plan is a trade. You may get fewer side effects at a low dose. But nobody has studied how much weight people lose at 4 mg for the long term. If you have less than 20 pounds to lose, also check whether you meet the label's BMI rules at all. A provider decides.
Can you get Hers weight loss pills cheaper somewhere else?
The pill itself costs about the same elsewhere. The membership is where you can save. Ro lists the same $149 starting price for the Wegovy pill, but its membership can drop to $74 a month on a prepaid yearly plan.
Here's what Ro posted on November 4, 2026:
| Hers | Ro | |
|---|---|---|
| Wegovy pill price by dose | "From $149"; other doses not shown | $149 (1.5 mg), $199 (4 mg), $299 (9 mg and 25 mg) |
| Foundayo price | "From $149" | From $149 (0.8 mg); $299 at 9 mg |
| Membership | $39, then $149/month | $39, then $74 to $149/month by plan |
| $39 back if you don't qualify? | No. First month is non-refundable | Yes, Ro says it refunds the $39 |
| Insurance help | "Insurance isn't required" | Free insurance check for Wegovy, Ozempic and Zepbound pens (not pills) |
What a year of the Wegovy pill could cost at Ro: say you step up from 1.5 mg to 4 mg, then stay at 9 mg or higher. Medicine runs $149 + $199 + (10 × $299) = $3,338. Add Ro's monthly membership and it's $5,016. On Ro's annual plan ($39, then $888 paid up front) it's $4,265. That's our math from Ro's posted prices.
We can't do the same math for Hers, because Hers doesn't post its prices above the first dose. That's the main reason we'd look at Ro before you sign up for a pill.
See Ro's Wegovy pill prices by doseMore detail in our Ro vs Hers comparison and does Ro have the Wegovy pill.
Does Hers take insurance or HSA for its pills?
Hers doesn't bill insurance for weight loss. It says "insurance isn't required." For an HSA or FSA, its FAQ recommends paying with a regular card and sending in your receipt, even though its pill pages show an "FSA & HSA eligible" banner.
Those are two different things. "Eligible" means the cost may qualify under your plan's rules. It doesn't mean your HSA card will go through at checkout without extra steps.
If you want insurance to pay, a pill is the hard route right now. Ro's free insurance check covers the Wegovy, Ozempic and Zepbound pens, not the pills. See does Hers take insurance, does Hers accept HSA/FSA and GLP-1 providers that accept insurance.
Are Hers weight loss pills legit?
Yes, the pills themselves are the real brand-name drugs. Wegovy and Foundayo are FDA-approved for weight loss. A Hers provider has to approve you first.
Hers's record isn't spotless. On September 9, 2025, the FDA sent a warning letter to Hims & Hers Health, Inc., doing business as Hers. It said forhers.com made misleading claims that its compounded semaglutide had the "same active ingredient as Ozempic and Wegovy." Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. The letter was about those compounded shots, not today's brand-name pills. A warning letter is the FDA's view, not a court ruling.

Are GLP-1 pills safe? Who should talk to a doctor first
GLP-1 pills carry the same main warnings as GLP-1 shots. The most common side effects are stomach issues like nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. Hers says it includes a generic anti-nausea pill (ondansetron) at no extra cost if prescribed.
GLP-1 safety: do not use if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer (MTC), or if you have MEN 2.
See your own doctor before starting if you:
- Are pregnant, trying to get pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Are under 18.
- Have had pancreatitis or gallbladder problems.
- Take insulin or other diabetes drugs.
- Take other pills every morning. The Wegovy and Ozempic pills must be taken alone on an empty stomach.
More in are GLP-1 pills safe.
How do you get a Hers weight loss pill?
You join the membership, fill out a health form, and a licensed provider decides if a pill fits you. Hers says treatment may be decided without a video visit, depending on your state. It says delivery can start "as soon as this week."
- Check your state. Hers says its GLP-1 treatment is "not available in all 50 states."
- Pay the $39 first month. It's non-refundable, even if you aren't prescribed anything.
- Fill out the intake. A provider reviews your health history.
- If prescribed, pick a medicine plan. It's billed separately, monthly or up front.
- Cancel both plans if you stop. Do it at least 2 days before your billing date, in the app or your account, by email at support@forhims.com, or at 1-800-368-0038.
Hers's terms say some prescriptions may be sent to an outside pharmacy, Gifthealth, which bills you directly. If that happens, you'd manage that medicine bill with Gifthealth.

Is the Hers Wegovy pill the real Wegovy?
Yes. It's the brand-name drug made by Novo Nordisk. The Wegovy pill was FDA-approved for weight loss on December 22, 2025.

Does Hers sell compounded weight loss pills?
Not on its weight loss page on November 4, 2026. It listed only brand-name drugs. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved.
Do I need a membership to get Hers weight loss pills?
