Hims GLP-1 Cost: What You'll Really Pay in 2026

Hims GLP-1 cost is two bills, not one. The lowest advertised start is $188 before shipping: $149 for a starting Wegovy® pill or Foundayo™ prescription, plus $39 for the first month's membership. Membership then rises to $149 a month, on top of medicine. The same $149 prescription would total $298, but your refill dose and price can change. Hims is cash-pay, and treatment needs a clinician's approval. Hims lists a $5 standard shipping fee; outside pharmacies set their own shipping terms.

Here's what surprised us: several of Hims's advertised starting prices match the drugmakers' cash prices. But your bill can still more than double by month 3 in the examples below. We show you exactly why — and how to plan for it before you pay a cent.

Your price depends on: your prescribed drug and dose · which offer you qualify for · monthly versus prepaid billing · the pharmacy filling your order · your state. Insurance or Medicare may offer a different route, but Hims does not bill them.

One commitment to check early: Hims's terms say that, after medication is pre-shipped on a prepaid multi-month plan, membership cancellation does not take effect until the medication supply period ends. What is the Hims GLP-1 cost per month by dose?

Hims charges for the medicine and the membership separately. The tables below show drugmaker cash prices plus Hims's membership—not a verified Hims quote at every dose. For example, a $349 Wegovy pen prescription plus the $149 membership would total $498 before other charges.

Hims's public product pages show starting prices. Your own prescribed dose and final quote still need a provider review and plan selection. That's the gap we set out to close.

So we built a dose-by-dose budget reference. Each medicine price comes from the drugmaker's own cash price list—Novo Nordisk for Wegovy and Ozempic, Eli Lilly for Zepbound and Foundayo. We checked the Hims starting prices separately. Use the dose rows to check your quote, not to replace it.

Example bill—not a patient receipt: Wegovy pen 1.7 mg at the $349 drugmaker cash price + Hims membership at $149 = $498, before shipping, supplies and any applicable tax.

Hims Wegovy pill cost (daily pill)

The 4 mg price is $199 on NovoCare's current list. The earlier $149 offer ended August 31, 2026. Do not use a July price as today's quote. Each pill bottle contains a 30-day supply.

Hims Wegovy Pill Microdosing Plan: Hims says the plan stops at 4 mg and is meant for people with about 5–20 pounds to lose. Hims also says microdosing is off-label (used in a way the FDA didn't approve), and that lower doses are unstudied for weight loss and may be less effective. The medicine's approval does not make this low-dose plan an FDA-approved weight-loss regimen.

At NovoCare's current 4 mg price, the budget would be $348 per month with Hims's ongoing membership, before other charges. Hims's public microdose page advertises a $149 starting medicine price; confirm your 4 mg quote. Do not choose a lower dose just to fit a budget. Hims microdosing plan and disclosures.

Hims Wegovy pen cost (weekly shot)

The $199 price is Novo Nordisk's offer for eligible new savings-offer or NovoCare patients: two fills at the starting doses, through December 31, 2026. Without that offer, the standard cash price for those doses is $349 too. Each Wegovy pen box contains four weekly doses—a 28-day supply.

Hims Zepbound cost (vial or KwikPen)

Hims offers a route that sends Zepbound prescriptions to LillyDirect®, Eli Lilly's own self-pay pharmacy program. On that route, Lilly's program sets the medicine price. The $449 higher-dose offer applies to the first eligible purchase; to keep it, buy the next refill within 45 days of receiving your previous order.

Without the offer, the medicine plus Hims's ongoing membership would be $648 at 7.5 mg or $848 at 10–15 mg, before supplies and other charges. Vials need syringes; KwikPens need pen needles, sold separately. A month's supply is 28 days. The 2.5 mg dose is a starting dose, not a maintenance dose. Want the full Zepbound walkthrough? Hims Foundayo cost (daily pill)

Foundayo (orforglipron) is Eli Lilly's weight-loss pill, FDA-approved on April 1, 2026. Like Zepbound, it can be filled through Lilly's self-pay program via Hims.

The two temporary discounts above end December 31, 2026. At 14.5 mg and 17.2 mg, the $299 offer applies to the first eligible purchase; continuing it requires a refill purchase within 45 days of the previous delivery. Without that offer, the medicine is $349 and the subtotal with Hims's ongoing membership is $498. A month's supply is 30 days.

Hims Ozempic cost (for type 2 diabetes)

Hims lists the Ozempic® pill from $149 and the Ozempic® pen from $199 a month, plus membership. Novo Nordisk's current cash guide lists pill doses at $149 (1.5 mg), $199 (4 mg) and $299 (9 mg). The pen's eligible two-fill starter offer is $199 at 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg through December 31, 2026; standard pen prices are $349 for 0.25–1 mg and $499 for 2 mg.

Ozempic is FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes, not weight loss. Hims says it's only for patients who meet its clinical criteria. The higher-dose numbers here are Novo Nordisk prices, not independently checked Hims quotes.

Why does Hims list Zepbound and Mounjaro at $1,899?

Hims's menu shows Mounjaro® and a plain "Zepbound®" listing at $1,899 a month—right next to the Zepbound vial and KwikPen starting at $299. Those are not the same offer. Hims doesn't explain the full price gap on that page. Before selecting the $1,899 Zepbound listing, ask about the vial or KwikPen route and have the provider confirm which presentation fits your prescription. See the Hims medication menu.

Is Hims more expensive than buying the medicine direct?

The complete Hims bill includes a care fee that buying medicine alone does not. Several advertised Hims starting prices match the drugmakers' cash prices, but we did not verify every Hims dose quote. Add membership, shipping, supplies and any applicable tax before comparing totals.

We lined up Hims's prices against the drugmakers' own price lists. Here's what we found.

NovoCare® and LillyDirect are the drugmakers' access programs. Prices come from the linked Hims menu, NovoCare Wegovy page, Ozempic price guide, LillyDirect Zepbound page and Foundayo savings terms. Checked September 23, 2026.

What this means for you: a matching starting price is useful, but it does not prove every future Hims quote has no markup. The separate membership is a known cost: $39 to start, then $149 a month on the monthly plan. Compare the same drug, dose, offer and supply period.

The insurance catch

Hims does not take insurance. Not commercial plans, not Medicare, not Medicaid—Hims says it does not bill insurance. If your commercial plan covers Wegovy and you qualify for its savings card, you could pay as little as $25 for the medicine elsewhere; the card's savings are capped at $100 per monthly fill. That is not a guaranteed price for every insured patient.

But on a cash-pay route, there's no insurer approval step. A licensed provider still reviews you, and pharmacy fulfillment still takes time. If you're paying cash anyway and want ongoing online care, the decision is whether the membership is worth the separate fee.

Do you have to pay Hims before you see your price?

Partly. Hims's starting prices are public, but your prescribed dose and final medication quote follow the clinical review and plan selection. Hims lists a $39 first-month membership to start that process. Its terms say this first membership payment is non-refundable, and membership doesn't guarantee a prescription.

This is the question behind the search. One person put it plainly in the r/HimsWeightloss community on Reddit: "So I have to pay just to see what the pricing is?" Read the discussion.

Here's the honest answer, straight from Hims's terms (last updated August 31, 2026):

The good news: you do not have to go in blind. Use the dose tables above to check the price you're shown. They give you a reference point—not a promise that your quote will be within $50.

4 things to confirm on the checkout screen

1. What's charged today? Look for the membership charge and any separate medication payment.
2. What renews next month? The advertised monthly membership goes to $149.
3. Is the medicine billed monthly or prepaid? Look at the total due, not just the "per month" number. A shipped multi-month plan can also extend the membership commitment.
4. Who bills the medicine—Hims or an outside pharmacy? It matters when you cancel. See below.

What does the $149 Hims membership get you?

The Hims Weight Loss Membership covers your provider care, not your medicine. Per Hims's terms, it includes an initial telehealth evaluation, a clinical check-in once a month, dose-change visits as needed, unlimited messaging with providers, care-team support and a private online community. Think of the $149 as the price of ongoing access to a prescriber. Here's the full list.

Two honest notes. First, "24/7 messaging" means you can send a message any time — not that a provider answers instantly. Second, the scale and discounts are nice, but don't count them as savings. Your card still gets charged $149.

How big a slice is the membership? Twelve monthly membership payments add up to $1,678. That's about 24%–42% of the combined totals in our 12-fill examples below, depending on the drug and plan. It is not a small add-on.

What Hims members say

"My experience—the consultation, ordering, check-ins, and customer service—have all been very positive!" — Roland, 43, published by Hims on hims.com/weight-loss. Hims notes that customers may have been compensated and that results have not been independently verified.

This is one person's reported service experience. It isn't proof of typical results, and it doesn't establish what your bill will be.

How much will Hims cost in your first year?

Twelve monthly membership payments cost $1,678 before medicine. Our examples below combine that fee with 12 medication fills, but 12 fills are not always a full year of treatment. A real first-year budget must count the refill dates and prices that apply to you.

We followed clearly stated dose paths and added the membership. Your provider decides your real doses, so treat these as budget examples—not a treatment plan or a verified Hims annual quote.

Each example assumes one fill at each listed starting dose, then the remaining fills at the final listed dose. The Foundayo example uses all six doses. Membership stays at $39 for payment one and $149 for the next eleven. Prices are held at today's published drugmaker rates except for the offer scenarios stated below.

Before shipping, supplies, visits outside the membership and any applicable tax. These are manufacturer-price calculations plus Hims membership, not six verified Hims checkout quotes.

Offer assumptions: The Wegovy pen example uses two eligible $199 starter fills, then $349 fills. The higher-dose Zepbound example keeps the $449 refill offer. Foundayo's lower total uses the temporary $149 price at 2.5 mg, $199 at 5.5 mg and the $299 higher-dose refill offer; its upper total uses regular prices. Those two early-dose discounts must apply when you purchase them, and the refill offer must remain available. Do not extend an expiring offer into a future year by default.

The calendar catch: Twelve 28-day fills cover 336 days, not a year. Thirteen cover 364 days, so a 365-day budget can include another purchase near the end, depending on when refills are billed. Twelve 30-day pill bottles cover 360 days. Count actual charges within your chosen dates rather than calling every 12-fill total a first-year price.

Why your bill can more than double by month 3

Two things can happen at once. The membership jumps $110 after month one. And a change in dose can raise the medicine price. For the Wegovy pill and pen examples, the third combined subtotal is more than twice the first. Budget for month 3, not month 1.

These examples pair one medicine fill with one membership payment. Their billing dates may not line up. Your clinician may also keep you at a dose longer; the table is not a reason to move up.

What the membership alone adds up to

How do you avoid surprise Hims charges?

Hims bills your membership and your medication as two separate subscriptions. Canceling the medication does not cancel the $149 membership, and Hims's terms require you to cancel at least 2 days before your originally scheduled billing date. Renewals can be charged up to 2 days early, and your first renewal may be charged early too. Hims weight-loss billing terms.

1. Canceling the medicine keeps the membership running

Hims's help center says it directly: if you cancel only the medication, your membership stays active and keeps billing. Canceling the membership also cancels an active Hims Medication Plan. Medication billed by an outside pharmacy needs a separate check with that pharmacy. Hims cancellation instructions.

Here's what that can cost. Say you stop your medication after month 3 but forget the membership. Nine more months at $149 is $1,341 — for care you aren't using. This is a billing example, not advice to stop treatment; discuss medicine changes with your clinician.

2. The cancel deadline is based on your original billing date

Hims's weight-loss terms say:

• Cancel at least 2 days before your next billing date for the membership or the medication.
• Your first renewal may be charged early "to prevent any discontinuity in treatment."
• Later renewals may be charged or shipped up to 2 days early.
• The 2-day deadline is counted from your originally scheduled billing date — even if the charge comes early.

Translation: don't wait until the last minute. Set a reminder a few days before each renewal.

3. Your medicine may be billed by a different company

For some drugs, Hims can't fill the prescription through its own pharmacies. Hims's terms say those prescriptions — for drugmaker self-pay programs like Lilly's — may go to Gifthealth, an outside pharmacy. If that happens:

Canceling with Gifthealth doesn't cancel your Hims membership. And you must keep your membership active (and do your monthly check-ins) to keep that prescription active. Hims terms: Gifthealth.

4. Dose changes can change your price

A higher dose can raise your medicine bill, but not every dose increase changes the price. Here's a calculated example—not a customer report: a $349 Wegovy pen quote plus the $39 first membership payment is $388; the same medicine with the ongoing membership is $498.

Someone starting above an offer's eligible doses may not get the $199 medicine price. If you're switching from another GLP-1, ask what drug and dose the clinician recommends, then confirm the matching price before buying the medication. Wegovy offer doses and prices.

5. The $39 is gone once you join

Hims's terms say the first-month membership fee is non-refundable. Treat it as a payment for the membership and review process—not a refundable hold while you shop. Know this going in. Hims membership cancellation terms.

6. A prepaid medicine plan can keep the membership running longer

Hims's terms say that, if medication has already been pre-shipped on a prepaid multi-month plan, membership cancellation does not take effect until the medication supply period ends. Refunds for partially used periods are not guaranteed, and shipped medication is not refundable.

Before prepaying, ask for the total commitment: medicine already purchased, membership charges through that supply period, and the date cancellation would take effect. A lower monthly-looking medicine price can come with a longer commitment. Read the prepaid-plan cancellation clause.

The FTC lawsuit — what it is, and what it isn't

On July 29, 2026, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Utah and California—acting through Los Angeles County Counsel—sued Hims & Hers. The complaint alleges problems with subscription disclosures, cancellation, early refill charges and sharing health information with advertising platforms. These are allegations, not court findings. The FTC lists the case as pending as of this check.

Hims disputes the claims and says it will defend the case. Its current terms also say it will give advance notice before subscription price changes. The checklist below helps you track your charges; it does not guarantee a refund or resolve the privacy allegations.

Do these 5 things the day you join

1. Screenshot your order summary—drug, dose, supply length, both prices and any upfront payment.
2. Open "My Subscriptions" and write down both renewal dates: membership and medication. Check the pharmacy's account too if it bills you separately.
3. Set a phone reminder several days before each one. The first renewal may be charged early, so check its timing rather than relying on one reminder.
4. Ask your provider what dose you might use next, then get the actual refill quote. Do not treat our reference tables as your prescription.
5. If Gifthealth bills your medicine, save its contact information. Manage that bill with Gifthealth, and your membership with Hims. If you prepaid, also record when cancellation can take effect.

Can you use insurance, HSA/FSA, or Klarna at Hims?

Hims is cash-pay only and does not bill insurance, Medicare or Medicaid. Hims says medication fees are HSA/FSA eligible, but its membership fee is not. Klarna monthly financing is offered on eligible treatment plans, subject to approval and the terms shown at checkout.

What an HSA can save you: as a simple federal income-tax example, an eligible $349 HSA contribution that reduces taxable income at a 22% rate would save $76.78. A later qualified reimbursement from that HSA does not create a second tax deduction. The $149 membership is excluded under Hims's stated policy. On Medicare Part D? Don't pay Hims's cash price before checking the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge, which runs July 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027. Eligible members can get Wegovy tablets or injections, Zepbound KwikPen or Foundayo for $50 per month's supply through this separate program.

Part D enrollment alone is not enough. You must meet the program's clinical rules and have a provider submit the required prior authorization. Is there a cheaper way to get the same GLP-1?

Sometimes. A matching medicine price does not make the full bill the same. You may pay less through covered insurance, the Medicare Bridge if you qualify, a lower-fee care plan, or your own doctor. Hims and Ro both advertise $39 for the first membership month and $149 for an ongoing monthly plan, but compare the same prescription and offer.

Here's the same reference case—the Wegovy pen with two eligible $199 fills and ten $349 fills—compared across the routes below. The medicine totals $3,888 for 12 fills. This is a common-price model, not a checked personal quote from every provider.

Ro: "Get started for $39, then as low as $74/month with annual plan paid upfront." Do not multiply a rounded monthly headline and assume it is the exact checkout charge, or add the introductory month twice. Medicine and any care outside the membership are separate. Visit costs with your own doctor vary.

The fair trade-off: monthly billing can limit how much you pay upfront, but Hims also has prepaid plans and related cancellation conditions. A yearly plan elsewhere can lower the monthly equivalent while putting more cash at risk if you leave early. Compare the amount due now and the refund terms—not just the monthly headline.

One more to ask about: Novo Nordisk announced 12-month Wegovy subscriptions at $249 per month through selected telehealth partners in March 2026. The announcement covered Wegovy pens, excluding Wegovy HD at launch, and 9 mg/25 mg pills. It named Ro, WeightWatchers and LifeMD at launch, with Hims & Hers planned later.

That announcement is not proof that the offer is available in your Hims checkout today. Ask whether your drug and dose qualify, what must be prepaid, whether care fees are extra and whether another discount can be combined. Is Hims worth the cost for you?

Hims can be worth the cost for cash-pay adults who want brand-name, FDA-approved GLP-1 medicine and want their provider, refills and tracking in one app. It is less compelling when covered insurance, a qualifying Medicare Bridge route or an existing prescriber can meet the same need at a lower total cost. Check the actual commitment before choosing a prepaid plan.

Why do other sites say Hims costs $199, $69, or $1,899?

Many Hims prices online describe older offers or different medicines. Hims advertised compounded semaglutide—a pharmacy-made drug that is not FDA-approved—from $199 a month before its March 2026 shift toward branded GLP-1s. The current branded program separates medicine from membership, but the company has described limited compounded access rather than a complete end to it.

If a page shows a price that doesn't match our tables, check its date. Here's what each old number was.

The timeline: On March 9, 2026, Hims announced its Novo Nordisk collaboration and a shift away from advertising compounded GLP-1s. It described limited compounded access for patients whose clinical needs cannot be met by available FDA-approved options. On March 26, it launched the new branded Wegovy/Ozempic access and separate membership. On April 23, it announced Zepbound and Foundayo access through Lilly's self-pay route.

A regulatory fact worth keeping with the old prices: In a September 9, 2025 warning letter, FDA objected to Hims's compounded-semaglutide advertising, including claims that implied equivalence to approved drugs. That letter concerned compounded-product marketing; it is not a finding that branded Wegovy or Zepbound lacks FDA approval. Read the FDA warning letter.

We then assembled separate drugmaker price tables and added Hims's membership to create labeled budget examples. A public starting-price match is not verification of every dose at Hims checkout.

How we did the math

• One-fill subtotal = medicine quote + $149 membership, or $39 for the first membership payment. Add the shipping, supplies and applicable tax shown for your order.
• 12-fill model = the sum of 12 stated medicine prices + $1,678 for 12 monthly membership payments. It is not automatically a 365-day budget.

How much is Zepbound at Hims?

How much is Foundayo at Hims?

How much is the Hims GLP-1 microdose plan?

Hims advertises the plan from $149 for medicine. It stops at 4 mg; at NovoCare's current $199 price for that dose, medicine plus ongoing Hims membership would be $348 before other charges. Does Hims still sell compounded semaglutide?

Hims shifted its advertised program toward FDA-approved branded drugs in March 2026, but described limited compounded access when a patient's clinical needs cannot be met by available approved options. Does Hims take insurance?
