Does Hims Accept Klarna? Yes — But Only on Eligible Plans
Checked against Hims’ own payment and support pages, Hims’ terms and conditions, and Klarna’s current published product terms.
Yes. Hims accepts Klarna at checkout — but only when the treatment plan you choose is eligible. Hims publicly documents a monthly “Pay over time” plan through Klarna (a loan you pay off in installments). Klarna’s Hims store page also advertises “Pay in 4” through a one-time-card route. So Klarna is real at Hims — you just confirm which version you get at checkout. If you’re asking “does Hims accept Klarna,” you’re almost certainly sitting at a payment screen right now, and you want two things: will it show up for your plan, and what will it actually cost?
Here’s the part Hims won’t spell out on a single screen. The price you see “per month” is not always the amount Klarna charges you. Your Hims membership and your medication are billed as separate subscriptions. And canceling Hims does not automatically stop a Klarna balance. Miss any of that, and a plan that felt affordable can quietly get bigger.
We’ll fix that below. We’re an independent comparison resource for GLP-1 telehealth providers, and we pulled these details straight from Hims’s and Klarna’s own pages. You’ll see exactly what Hims confirms, what only shows up at your checkout, the real cost of financing, and the one cancellation trap that catches people. In plain numbers.

What we actually verified
- • Hims’s official support center confirms it has partnered with Klarna and offers monthly “Pay over time” financing (issued by WebBank, a real bank) at checkout.
- • Klarna appears only when your selected treatment plan is eligible — Hims does not publish which plans qualify.
- • We checked Hims’s current membership price, card options, insurance stance, HSA/FSA rules, and cancellation terms.
- • We checked Klarna’s current interest range, credit-check, and credit-reporting terms.
- • We did not complete an authenticated Hims checkout or submit a loan application. So anything that says “at checkout” below is confirmed only in your live offer.

Hims + Klarna at a glance: what’s confirmed vs. what’s checkout-only
Here’s the honest split between what the companies state publicly and what only your own checkout can answer. We built this from Hims’s and Klarna’s own pages. We did not test a live purchase, so every “at checkout” item is confirmed only in your real offer.

Does Hims accept Klarna?
Yes. Hims’s own support center says it has partnered with Klarna, and you can choose Klarna at checkout when your selected treatment plan is eligible. Hims describes the direct option as monthly “Pay over time” financing, issued by WebBank.
In plain terms: Klarna lets you spread an eligible Hims charge into smaller monthly payments instead of paying it all at once. This isn’t a workaround or a rumor. It’s an official option built into Hims checkout. When your plan qualifies, you pick Klarna, complete a quick application for an instant decision, review the terms, and Hims emails you the finalized schedule once your order ships. After that, you manage payments in the Klarna app.
One term, since it matters later: BNPL means “buy now, pay later” — the umbrella name for services like Klarna that split a purchase into pieces. Klarna is one BNPL provider. Hims names Klarna specifically.
But if you’ve already decided you want Hims, or want to try it first, the honest next step is finishing the Hims intake and seeing what payment options appear for your selected plan.
Which Hims plans qualify for Klarna?
Hims does not give a public, plan-by-plan Klarna eligibility list. The real answer shows up only when your chosen plan reaches the payment screen. That’s not us being cautious; it’s the exact limit of what Hims tells the public.
Does Hims accept Klarna for weight loss?
Hims’s language covers an “eligible selected treatment plan” broadly, and weight loss is one of the things people most often finance. But Hims’s public Klarna page doesn’t name a product category, plan length, or medication — so treat your checkout screen as the final word.
Can you use Klarna for Wegovy specifically?
Possibly — but nobody outside Hims can confirm it medication-by-medication. Hims now markets a broad FDA-approved GLP-1 lineup, including the Wegovy pill and the Wegovy pen. Whether Klarna attaches to your specific pick is a live-checkout question, full stop.
A note on compounded medication
Hims says compounded semaglutide may remain available only on a limited basis, when an independent provider decides a compounded product is clinically necessary. Compounded means a medication a pharmacy mixes to order. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved; the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they reach patients. This is the FDA’s position, not ours.
What you can only learn at checkout
Screenshot every one of these when you get there:
- Whether your selected plan is Klarna-eligible at all
- Which Klarna option shows (monthly financing or Pay in 4)
- Whether you’re approved
- The principal — the amount being financed before any interest
- Any required down payment
- Your APR (annual percentage rate — the yearly cost of borrowing, shown as a percent)
- The number of payments and your first due date
- The total of payments — what you’ll pay across the whole plan
- Whether your $149 membership is inside the loan or charged on its own
If a page tells you a specific Hims plan “definitely” takes Klarna without confirming it live, be skeptical. Only your checkout knows.
What if Hims sends your prescription to Gifthealth?
For certain manufacturer self-pay pharmacy programs, Hims says medication billing and fulfillment may be handled directly by Gifthealth, not Hims. In that case the medication purchase is between you and Gifthealth, which can change the payment options you see. Don’t assume a Klarna option inside Hims covers that purchase — check the payment methods shown in the Gifthealth flow.
How do you use Klarna on Hims?
You go through Hims until your eligible plan reaches checkout, choose Klarna when it appears, complete Klarna’s quick application, and review the terms before you accept. Hims then hands the payment schedule to Klarna, which you manage in the Klarna app.
- Complete the Hims intake (your health questions and goals).
- Let a licensed provider decide whether a treatment plan is appropriate for you.
- Continue to the payment screen for your selected plan.
- Look for Klarna among the payment methods.
- Complete Klarna’s application and any identity check (be ready to get a text code — Klarna requires that you can receive one).
- Read the principal, APR, number of payments, due dates, and total of payments.
- Save a screenshot or PDF of those terms.
- Compare the Klarna payment against your separate $149 membership — then accept only if the whole thing fits your budget.
- Manage your payments afterward in the Klarna app.
Does Hims offer Klarna Pay in 4 or monthly financing?
Hims’s own documentation describes monthly “Pay over time” financing. Klarna’s Hims store page also promotes Pay in 4 through a one-time-card route — but neither source proves Pay in 4 shows up in every direct Hims checkout. Confirm the exact product, term, and any fee in your live offer.
Klarna has a few products, and they cost very different amounts:
| Klarna product | How it works | Interest? | At Hims? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pay in 4 | Four equal payments over about six weeks; first due at purchase | Standard Pay in 4 is interest-free when paid on time; a one-time-card purchase may carry a small service fee | Klarna’s Hims store page promotes it via one-time-card route; Hims’s own docs describe monthly financing |
| Monthly financing (“Pay over time”) | A loan through WebBank, paid over several monthly installments | Can charge interest: 0%–35.99% APR depending on your credit | Hims documents this directly in its support center |
Hims documents the monthly financing option directly. So don’t assume you’re automatically getting the free four-payment split — check which one your plan offers.
What we won’t tell you — because it isn’t verified:
- × “Hims gives you four interest-free Klarna payments.” (Not promised for every plan.)
- × “Hims Klarna is always interest-free.” (Monthly financing can carry interest.)
- × “You can always use a Klarna one-time card at Hims.” (Not confirmed for every purchase.)
If interest-free is your hard requirement, check at your checkout whether Pay in 4 is offered for your plan — and if it isn’t, decide whether the monthly financing cost is worth it using the breakdown next.
How much does Hims really cost when you use Klarna?
The Klarna payment is not a new charge on top of everything else — it’s a way to pay an eligible charge over time. Count the Klarna total once, then add only the Hims charges that fall outside the loan. The most common one to remember: the Weight Loss Membership, which is billed separately from your medication.
Two subscriptions can be in play, plus the financing that spreads a charge out:
| Layer | Who charges it | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Care access | Hims | $39 first month, then $149/month membership |
| Medication | Hims | Billed monthly or upfront, depending on your plan |
| Financing terms | Klarna / WebBank | The payment schedule and any interest or fees on whatever eligible charge is financed |
Combined cost = Klarna total of payments + membership charges + any Hims charge that isn’t inside the financed amount. Don’t count the financed medication twice.
Real prices: Hims currently lists the Wegovy Pen from $199 per month, billed monthly — that price covers medication only. An active Weight Loss Membership costs $39 at checkout for month one, then $149/month. Whatever amount Klarna ends up financing for you comes from your live offer — use it in the calculator below.
How Klarna’s monthly financing changes the math
Klarna’s own published examples, per $1,000 financed over 6 months. Your amount, term, and rate are set at your checkout and can differ.
| Your Klarna APR | Est. monthly payment | Est. total interest |
|---|---|---|
| 0% (top credit, promo) | ~$167 | ~$0 |
| ~8% APR | ~$171 | ~$23 |
| ~20% APR | ~$177 | ~$59 |
| ~35.99% APR (Klarna’s max) | ~$185 | ~$108 |
The takeaway: a small monthly payment isn’t always a cheap one. Always look at the total of payments, not just the monthly number.
Run your own numbers with the Hims + Klarna cost calculator below. Enter the principal, APR, term, and down payment from your live Klarna offer, plus your membership month, and it shows your real monthly payment, total interest, and 6- and 12-month totals. An AI summary can tell you Hims takes Klarna; it can’t do your math with your numbers.
The cancellation trap
Canceling your Hims subscription and clearing your Klarna balance are two separate things you have to handle. You don’t need to close a Klarna account — you keep following the payment schedule unless Klarna confirms a pause, refund, or balance adjustment. This is the trap people learn the hard way.
The Hims side has its own rules worth knowing
- Canceling your Medication Plan does not automatically cancel your Weight Loss Membership — the $149/month membership keeps renewing until you cancel it separately. Canceling the membership also stops the medication plan from auto-renewing.
- Hims does not refund medication after it ships. Its terms say an initial Medication Plan is refundable only if you cancel within 48 hours after you submit payment information; a monthly renewal must be canceled at least two days before the next billing date.
- Renewal charges or shipments can happen up to two days early for operational reasons — so go by the processing date in your account, not the day you think it renews.
Then handle the Klarna side
- If you’re owed a refund, start the return through Klarna as Hims directs. Hims says reporting a return through Klarna can pause the payment for up to 21 days under Klarna Buyer Protection while the store processes it. A payment hold is not a completed refund.
- Your balance stays owed until Klarna shows the final outcome. Keep checking.
The three screens to save
- Hims — subscription status and cancellation confirmation.
- Klarna — current balance, payment schedule, and any refund or dispute status.
- Your bank or card — pending and posted charges.
Honest take: Klarna lowers your upfront payment, but it adds a second company and a second balance to track. If avoiding a separate loan matters more to you than lowering the first payment, paying month-to-month may fit you better. That’s not a reason to avoid Hims — it’s a reason to go in with your eyes open.
Why isn’t Klarna showing at my Hims checkout?
If Klarna doesn’t appear, the usual reasons are that your selected plan isn’t eligible, or Klarna didn’t approve that transaction or applicant. Hims limits Klarna to eligible selected plans, and Klarna makes its own approval decision.
A few things could be going on:
- Your selected Hims plan isn’t Klarna-eligible.
- You haven’t reached the payment step yet.
- Klarna didn’t approve the transaction.
- You don’t meet Klarna’s basic requirements: U.S. resident, legal age in your state, a valid card or bank account, accurate personal details, legal capacity to enter a contract, and the ability to get a text verification code.
Try this order before you give up:
- Confirm your selected plan hasn’t changed.
- Re-check the payment methods on the final checkout screen.
- Make sure your name, address, and phone match your details exactly.
- Open the Klarna app for an approval or declined notice.
- Contact Hims about your plan’s payment eligibility.
- Contact Klarna about approval or account issues.
- Don’t hammer “apply” over and over without knowing why it’s unavailable.
If Klarna simply won’t work for the plan you want, you’re not stuck. Compare GLP-1 providers that publicly list Klarna → — that’s the page for anyone who needs a pay-later option confirmed up front. One option there is Yucca Health, which lists Klarna, Affirm, and Afterpay on its plans. (Yucca uses compounded medication, which isn’t FDA-approved as a finished drug — worth knowing before you switch.)
What other ways can you pay at Hims?
Besides Klarna, Hims accepts major cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Hims is cash-pay and does not bill insurance directly, but its weight-loss treatment may be HSA/FSA-eligible for reimbursement, depending on your plan.
| Method | Hims status | Key condition |
|---|---|---|
| Klarna | Available on eligible plans | Exact option and terms shown at checkout |
| Visa | Accepted | Standard card payment |
| Mastercard | Accepted | Standard card payment |
| American Express | Accepted | Standard card payment |
| Discover | Accepted | Standard card payment |
| HSA / FSA | Weight-loss expenses may be reimbursable | Plan-dependent; Hims suggests paying by card and submitting a receipt |
| Insurance | Not accepted directly by Hims | Insurance-dependent shoppers should look elsewhere |
| Affirm | Not listed in Hims’s official payment docs | Confirm live at checkout — don’t assume |
| Afterpay | Not listed in Hims’s official payment docs | Confirm live at checkout — don’t assume |
Klarna vs. HSA/FSA — which is smarter?
If you have an HSA or FSA (tax-advantaged accounts for medical costs), reimbursement uses money you’ve already set aside for health — no borrowing cost at all. Hims says its weight-loss treatment expenses are eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement, subject to your plan’s rules and available funds, and recommends paying with a regular card and submitting the receipt. Klarna spreads the payment but can add interest. For a lot of people, HSA/FSA beats financing — just confirm eligibility with your plan administrator first.
If you need insurance, Hims isn’t your path
Hims doesn’t bill insurance, and Klarna can’t fix that — financing a cash price isn’t the same as using coverage. If direct insurance billing or prior authorization matters to you, start with an insurance-friendly, FDA-approved provider instead. See our FDA-approved and insurance-support comparison →
Should you use Klarna for Hims Weight Loss?
Klarna fits someone who already wants Hims, sees an eligible option, understands the full total, and can comfortably make every payment. It’s a poor fit if you need guaranteed 0% interest, guaranteed availability before you apply, insurance billing, or the ability to end every obligation with one cancellation.
| Your situation | Best next step |
|---|---|
| You already chose Hims and can afford the full plan | Check eligibility, then review the Klarna offer at checkout |
| You only want a lower monthly payment | Compare the monthly and the total of payments before you commit |
| You can pay without borrowing | Compare the card total vs. Klarna’s total first |
| You have HSA/FSA funds | Consider paying by card and reimbursing, if your plan allows |
| You need insurance billing | Hims is likely the wrong path — start with an insurance-friendly provider |
| You need Klarna guaranteed before applying | Use our Klarna-provider comparison instead |
| You can’t stand a separate loan after canceling | Skip financing and pay month-to-month |
| You’re not sure Hims is even right for you | Take the matching quiz instead of forcing the choice |
Best fit: you prefer Hims, you’re comfortable finishing the intake, you get an eligible offer, and you can verify and afford the whole schedule — and cash-flow flexibility matters more to you than keeping things dead simple.
Not the best fit: you need guaranteed zero interest, guaranteed Pay in 4, insurance, or fully month-to-month billing — or you might stop soon and don’t want a lingering loan.

What we checked — and what we couldn’t
We built this page from Hims’s official payment, membership, insurance, and cancellation pages; Klarna’s official financing and credit pages; and federal consumer-finance guidance. We flag anything that can’t be confirmed without your live checkout. No guessing dressed up as fact.
Where our facts come from, in order of trust
- Hims’s official support and terms pages
- Klarna’s official payment and credit pages
- Federal consumer guidance (FTC) and FDA guidance on compounded drugs
- Community reports — used only for how people describe the problem, never as proof of policy
What we could not confirm
(And neither can any page, without your live checkout:)
- Which exact Hims medications qualify for Klarna — no public list exists
- Whether your checkout offers Pay in 4, monthly financing, or both
- Whether your membership fee is inside any financed amount
- Your exact APR, term, and down payment — all personalized
- Approval — Klarna decides per application
We did not submit a loan application or test every plan inside an account. And we made no claim about whether any medication is right for you — that’s between you and a licensed provider.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers, consistent with the “eligible plan only” limit above.
- Does Hims offer Klarna Pay in 4?
- Hims's documentation describes monthly "Pay over time" financing. Klarna's Hims store page also promotes Pay in 4 through a one-time-card route, but neither source proves Pay in 4 appears in every direct Hims checkout. Confirm the exact product, term, and any fee in your live offer.
- Can you use a Klarna one-time card at Hims?
- Klarna's Hims store page promotes a one-time-card route that may offer Pay in 4 or Pay over time. Hims doesn't guarantee that route for every prescription or checkout, so the live Klarna approval and merchant acceptance are what decide it.
- Is Klarna interest-free at Hims?
- Not necessarily. Klarna's monthly financing runs 0%–35.99% APR depending on your credit. Only your live offer tells you your rate.
- Does Hims Klarna check your credit?
- Klarna says it uses a soft credit check, which generally doesn't lower your score. Approval still isn't guaranteed, and Pay-over-time loan activity can be reported to TransUnion and Experian.
- Why isn't Klarna showing at my Hims checkout?
- Your plan may not be eligible, the transaction may not have been approved, or you may not meet Klarna's requirements. Hims only offers Klarna on eligible selected plans.
- Does Hims accept HSA or FSA?
- Hims says its weight-loss treatment may be HSA/FSA-eligible for reimbursement, depending on your plan. It suggests paying by card and submitting a receipt.
- Does Hims take insurance?
- No. Hims is cash-pay and doesn't bill insurance directly.
- Does Hims accept Affirm or Afterpay?
- Neither is listed in Hims's official payment docs. Check live at checkout rather than assuming they can — or can't — be used.
- If I cancel Hims, do I still owe Klarna?
- Canceling Hims doesn't automatically erase a Klarna balance. Keep following Klarna's schedule unless Klarna confirms a pause, refund, or adjustment after Hims processes an eligible refund. And remember: canceling your medication plan doesn't cancel your $149 membership — you cancel that separately.
