Does TrimRx Work? What the Real Data Says About Results
By WPG Research Team · Last verified
The medicines TrimRx prescribes, semaglutide and tirzepatide, led to large weight loss in brand-name trials. But TrimRx mainly sends compounded versions, which are not FDA-approved and have not been tested in those trials. TrimRx's own results numbers are self-reported by customers. Expect slow early weeks, not a fast drop.
Weight Loss Provider Guide is an independent comparison resource for GLP-1 telehealth providers.
The short answer
- The medicine type works. In big trials, brand-name semaglutide (Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Zepbound) helped people lose about 15% to 21% of their weight over about 1.5 years.
- TrimRx's version hasn't been studied. TrimRx's main program uses compounded medicine. The FDA does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness or quality. We found no published study of TrimRx's program.
- TrimRx's numbers come from customers. Its "25+ lbs in 90 days" and "94.6% success rate" are based on weights customers typed in themselves.
- The first month is slow on purpose. You start on a low dose. It goes up over months.

What does "TrimRx" actually give you?
TrimRx is a telehealth platform. A licensed provider reviews your health info and can prescribe a GLP-1 medicine. TrimRx's main program is compounded medicine, made by a pharmacy just for you. TrimRx says these "are not FDA-approved." It also says it "does not sell, dispense, or ship any branded medications."
What TrimRx listed on November 2, 2026:
- GLP-1 (compounded semaglutide): starting at $179 a month.
- GLP-1 + GIP (compounded tirzepatide): starting at $279 a month.
So "Does TrimRx work?" is really two questions. Does the medicine work? And does TrimRx's compounded version work the same way? The first has strong evidence. The second has none yet. More on the rules in Is TrimRx FDA-approved?
TrimRx's results claims vs. what studies show
We put each TrimRx claim next to the closest real data we could find. The studies used brand-name Wegovy or Zepbound, not TrimRx's compounded medicine.
| What TrimRx says | Where it comes from | Closest study data (brand-name medicine) |
|---|---|---|
| "25+ lbs avg. weight loss" within 90 days | Self-reported by about 300,000 customers | Mayo Clinic real-world semaglutide patients lost an average of about 15 lbs (6.7 kg, 5.9%) at 3 months |
| "2x faster results" than the "industry average" within 90 days | TrimRx doesn't say what the industry average is | No study compares TrimRx's speed to anyone |
| "94.6% success rate" for "clinically meaningful" loss | Self-reported; TrimRx doesn't define "clinically meaningful" or the time frame | 86% lost at least 5% on semaglutide after 68 weeks; 85% to 91% on tirzepatide after 72 weeks |
| "98% of users keep the weight off" | No source shown on the homepage | One year after stopping semaglutide, people regained about two-thirds of the weight they lost |
| "Weight loss guarantee or your money back" | TrimRx GLP-1 page | Not a study claim. See the guarantee section below |
Three things to know about self-reported numbers:
- People type in their own weight. TrimRx says customers report weight at sign-up and every 3 to 4 weeks.
- People who quit may stop reporting. Results from people who keep going often look better than results from everyone who started.
- The numbers don't match each other. The same page says "200,000+ prescriptions written" and data from "approximately 300,000" customers. TrimRx doesn't explain the gap.
TrimRx's own fine print says it too: "Individual results may vary. Weight loss is not guaranteed."
Is 25 pounds in 90 days realistic?
It depends on your starting weight. Here is TrimRx's 25 pounds as a share of your weight, next to what studies saw with brand-name medicine.
| Starting weight | TrimRx's 25 lbs = | 3 months, semaglutide (5.9%) | About 6 months, semaglutide (10.9%) | 68 weeks, semaglutide (14.9%) | 36 weeks, tirzepatide (20.9%) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 200 lbs | 12.5% | about 12 lbs | about 22 lbs | about 30 lbs | about 42 lbs |
| 250 lbs | 10% | about 15 lbs | about 27 lbs | about 37 lbs | about 52 lbs |
| 300 lbs | 8.3% | about 18 lbs | about 33 lbs | about 45 lbs | about 63 lbs |
These are averages from studies, worked out for each weight. They are not a promise for you.
What this shows: 25 pounds in 3 months is close to what brand-name semaglutide patients lost at about 6 months in the Mayo Clinic data. It is possible for some people, but it's on the fast side for most. At the same percent, heavier people lose more pounds. People with type 2 diabetes lost less in the Mayo data (3.9% vs. 6.3% at 3 months).

What to expect month by month
This timeline mixes TrimRx's own help articles with brand-name drug labels and trials. Your provider sets your dose, not this page.
| Time on medicine | What usually happens | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Weeks 1 to 2 | Appetite often changes before the scale does | TrimRx Help Center |
| Weeks 1 to 4 | Low starting dose. It's meant to help your body adjust, not to cause big weight loss | Wegovy and Zepbound labels; TrimRx Help Center |
| Months 2 to 4 | Your provider may raise the dose step by step. Flat weeks are normal | Wegovy and Zepbound labels; TrimRx Help Center |
| Month 3 | Average about 6% lost on brand semaglutide in real-world use | Mayo Clinic study |
| Month 5 | Average about 10.6% lost on brand semaglutide after 20 weeks | STEP 4 trial |
| Month 6 | Average about 10.9% lost on brand semaglutide in real-world use | Mayo Clinic study |
| Month 8 to 9 | Average about 20.9% lost on brand tirzepatide after 36 weeks | SURMOUNT-4 trial |
| Month 16 to 17 | Average 14.9% (semaglutide) to 20.9% (highest tirzepatide dose) lost | STEP 1 and SURMOUNT-1 trials |
In the brand-name trials, people also got diet and exercise advice. Placebo groups lost only 2.4% to 3.1%.
Who TrimRx tends to fit, and who it doesn't
TrimRx can make sense if you:
- Are fine with compounded medicine that isn't FDA-approved
- Want to pay cash and skip insurance
- Can give it about 3 months before judging results
It may not fit if you:
- Want the exact medicine tested in the trials above
- Want to use insurance (TrimRx is cash pay; see Does TrimRx accept insurance?)
- Expect big results in the first month
At TrimRx's listed starting prices, 3 months comes to about $537 for GLP-1 or $837 for GLP-1 + GIP. Your real plan price shows at checkout. Full breakdown: TrimRx cost.

Check your coverage with RoWhat if TrimRx isn't working for you?
TrimRx's help center says flat weeks happen, and the starting dose isn't your working dose. It says if weeks pass with no change, tell your provider. Before you decide it's not working:
- Check how long you've been on it. Most of the first month is a low starting dose.
- Message your provider. Only they can change your dose or medicine.
- Look at more than the scale. TrimRx suggests protein, strength training, sleep and water.
- Know your options. See why GLP-1s stop working and TrimRx alternatives.
Does TrimRx's money-back guarantee cover you?
TrimRx's GLP-1 page says, "we guarantee you'll lose weight or your money back." The refund policy in TrimRx's help center (checked November 2, 2026) doesn't mention this guarantee. It says:
- Refund requests must be made within 28 days of the original purchase.
- Medicine can't be returned once it ships.
- Canceling doesn't refund a charge that already went through.
Before you pay, ask TrimRx to send the guarantee's rules in writing: how long you must stay on, what counts as "losing weight," and how to claim it. We cover what customers report in our TrimRx review.
What happens to your results if you stop?
Weight usually comes back. TrimRx's own help center says appetite returns over a few weeks and "weight often comes back."
The trials agree:
- Semaglutide: One year after stopping, people regained about two-thirds of the weight they lost (STEP 1 extension).
- Tirzepatide: People switched to placebo regained 14% of their weight over about a year. People who stayed on lost 5.5% more (SURMOUNT-4).

Side effects can affect your results
TrimRx lists nausea, constipation or diarrhea, burping or reflux, stomach discomfort, vomiting, tiredness, headache, dizziness and injection-site soreness. These are why doses go up slowly. Call 911 for trouble breathing, swelling or chest pain.
Do not use one if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer (MTC), or if you have MEN 2.

FAQ
Does TrimRx really work?
The medicines TrimRx prescribes worked well in brand-name trials. TrimRx's compounded versions are not FDA-approved and have not been studied. TrimRx's results numbers are self-reported by customers. Many people do lose weight, but no study proves TrimRx's version works the same.
How fast does TrimRx work?
Appetite often changes in the first week or two, per TrimRx. Scale changes are usually slower because you start on a low dose. In brand-name semaglutide studies, people lost about 6% by month 3 and about 11% by month 6.
How much weight can you lose in the first month on TrimRx?
TrimRx doesn't publish a first-month number. The first month is usually a low starting dose meant to help your body adjust. Expect small changes, and don't judge results yet.
Are there TrimRx before and after results?
TrimRx shows customer stories on its site. We don't show before and after photos, because one person's photos don't show typical results. Use the study averages above instead.
Is TrimRx semaglutide or tirzepatide better for results?
In brand-name trials, tirzepatide led to more weight loss (up to 20.9% vs. 14.9%). Neither of TrimRx's compounded versions has been tested. Compare them in semaglutide vs. tirzepatide.
Can I get my money back if TrimRx doesn't work?
TrimRx advertises a lose-weight-or-money-back guarantee. Its refund policy says requests must be made within 28 days of purchase and doesn't spell out the guarantee. Get the guarantee terms in writing before you pay.
