LumiMeds Reviews (2026): Prices, Ratings and the Fine Print

By WPG Research Team · Last verified

LumiMeds is a real, cash-pay telehealth platform that sells compounded semaglutide from $89 a month and compounded tirzepatide from $125 a month, but only on a 12-month plan paid up front. One month costs $189 or $249. Plans are hard to cancel, and the FDA sent LumiMeds a warning letter in 2025.

Weight Loss Provider Guide is an independent comparison resource for GLP-1 telehealth providers.

Bottom line

  • Cost: Semaglutide is $189 for one month or $1,068 for 12 months ($89 a month). Tirzepatide is $249 for one month or $1,500 for 12 months ($125 a month).
  • What's included: Provider review, messaging support, and cold-chain shipping.
  • The catch: Plans are a fixed commitment. Canceling costs a $100 fee, and nothing is refunded once your order goes to the pharmacy.
  • Ratings: BBB rating of D-. An FDA warning letter in September 2025 for misleading claims.
  • Best for: Cash payers sure they want a long plan at a low monthly price.

What is LumiMeds?

LumiMeds is run by Luminate Ventures LLC, based in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is a patient platform, not a medical practice or pharmacy. Independent licensed providers review your health form and decide on treatment. A state-licensed 503A compounding pharmacy fills the prescription.

For weight loss, LumiMeds sells compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide shots taken once a week. It also sells lower-dose "microdose" plans and other non-weight-loss products such as NAD+.

Compounded medicine is made by a compounding pharmacy for one patient's prescription. It is not the same as Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound, or Mounjaro. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not check them for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are sold.

Here is how it works, per LumiMeds:

  1. Fill out an online health form. LumiMeds says it takes about 2 minutes.
  2. A licensed provider reviews it. LumiMeds says no office visit is needed.
  3. If prescribed, your medicine ships cold to your door, with shipping included.
  4. You message your provider for questions and refills.

LumiMeds does not name its pharmacy on the pages we checked.

The right GLP-1 path isn't the same for everyone. It depends on your state, insurance, budget, whether you want FDA-approved or compounded medicine, and whether you want a shot or a pill. Our free tool can show you which fits before you choose.

How much does LumiMeds cost?

LumiMeds sells plans of 1, 3, 6, or 12 months. The longer the plan, the lower the monthly price. These are the prices in LumiMeds' plan list on October 29, 2026, while a pre-Black Friday sale banner was showing. Confirm the price at checkout.

Compounded semaglutide

PlanTotal pricePer month
1 month$189$189
3 months$399$133
6 months$690$115
12 months$1,068$89

Compounded tirzepatide

PlanTotal pricePer month
1 month$249$249
3 months$498$166
6 months$840$140
12 months$1,500$125

The "$89 a month" price is the 12-month plan. You owe the full $1,068 for the year. LumiMeds' terms say you are responsible for the full plan amount even if you pay in parts. LumiMeds also lists buy-now-pay-later options.

Microdose plans. LumiMeds also sells lower-dose plans: semaglutide from $159 for one month and tirzepatide from $199 for one month. Its site says people with a BMI under 25 "may qualify for microdosing." The FDA-approved versions of these medicines are approved for weight loss only for adults with a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related health problem. Ask your own doctor before taking a GLP-1 if your BMI is under 27.

Other perks: LumiMeds offers $40 for referring a friend.

Want FDA-approved brand-name medicine? LumiMeds' weight-loss plans are compounded. Ro is our top pick for brand-name GLP-1s. Its membership is $39 for the first month, then $149 a month, or as low as $74 a month on a prepaid yearly plan. The medicine is billed on top of that. On October 29, 2026, Ro listed Zepbound from $299 a month at the 2.5 mg dose and the Wegovy pen from $199 a month at the starting doses. See our guides to Zepbound cost without insurance and Wegovy cost without insurance.

LumiMeds reviews: what do customers say?

We checked public sources on October 29, 2026. We do not add or invent reviews.

SourceWhat it shows
TrustpilotLumiMeds' site shows a 4.7 TrustScore from 1,060 reviews. Trustpilot blocked our direct check
Better Business BureauRating of D-. Not accredited. 8 complaints in 3 years, 1 not answered
FDAWarning letter dated September 9, 2025
LegitScriptLumiMeds' site says it is LegitScript certified

LumiMeds also sells NAD+ and other treatments, so not every review is about weight loss.

About the FDA warning letter. In September 2025, the FDA said claims on LumiMeds' website were false or misleading. The site had said its compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide had "the same active ingredient as the brand name medications." The FDA said this implied the products were the same as FDA-approved drugs when they are not. The letter was about marketing claims, not a finding about a specific batch of medicine.

Why the BBB D- matters. It reflects LumiMeds' complaint record. It is not a safety rating, but it does tell you how complaints may be handled.

What's the catch? The fine print

We read LumiMeds' membership terms (last modified April 7, 2026) and terms of use on October 29, 2026. These are the rules most likely to cost you money.

TopicWhat the terms say
CommitmentEach plan is a fixed-term commitment. You owe the full amount for the term, even if you pay in parts
CancelingA $100 non-refundable cancellation fee applies for any reason other than a prescription denial
Not approvedFull refund if the provider denies your prescription
After the pharmacyOnce an order is sent to the pharmacy, it can't be canceled or refunded
RenewalsSubscriptions renew until canceled. You must cancel yourself in your online portal before the renewal
Damaged or wrong ordersRefunds or replacements only for a verified packing error or shipping damage
Price changesLumiMeds can change prices with 28 days' notice
DisputesBinding individual arbitration and no class actions. You can opt out by emailing help@lumimeds.com within 30 days

Watch the "Cancel Anytime" badge. LumiMeds' website shows a "Cancel Anytime" badge, but its membership terms say plans are non-cancelable once the term starts and charge a $100 fee to cancel. Read the terms at checkout before you pay.

Our tip: Cancel in your portal several days before a renewal date. If you cancel after the renewal charge, the $100 fee applies.

Does LumiMeds take insurance?

No. LumiMeds does not bill insurance. You pay the listed price.

LumiMeds says its plans are HSA and FSA eligible. Ask your plan what it covers before you pay.

Want help using your insurance? Ro's insurance team checks your coverage and submits prior authorization paperwork for FDA-approved brand-name medicine. (A prior authorization is your insurer's approval before it will pay.) More options: GLP-1 providers that accept insurance.

See how we score in How We Rank.

Is LumiMeds legit?

Yes, in the sense that it is a real company with posted plan prices, licensed providers, and written terms. The weak spots are a 2025 FDA warning letter for misleading claims, a BBB D-, an unnamed pharmacy, and strict cancel rules.

LumiMeds fits you if you:

  • Are sure you want compounded medicine for a full year and want a low monthly price.
  • Are fine paying for the full plan.
  • Want to pay with an HSA or FSA card.

Look elsewhere if you:

  • Want to try one month first at a low price.
  • Want to be able to cancel without a fee.
  • Want brand-name Wegovy or Zepbound, or want insurance to help pay.
  • Want to know which pharmacy makes your medicine.

Who should talk to a doctor first?

See your own doctor before using any online GLP-1 program if you:

  • Are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • Have had medullary thyroid cancer, MEN 2, or pancreatitis.
  • Take insulin or other diabetes medicines.
  • Have kidney disease or a history of an eating disorder.
  • Have a BMI under 27.

A licensed clinician decides if any GLP-1 is right for you. No program guarantees a prescription.
